Two April Eras

Postby seasonsinthesun » Sun Apr 29, 2018 8:12 pm

Here are two dates in April from different times:

Saturday 28th April 2018. Globe Arena. Important Match. Morecambe 0 Barnet 1

Saturday 27th April 1974. Wembley Stadium. Important Match. Morecambe 2 Dartford 1

Just wanted to mark the highs and lows of these two dates in April.

Yes , same here. I felt sick when the final whistle went yesterday. How much did we need someone like Tony Webber or Mal Richmond up front.

That Burnley Senior Cup Final win was my first ever game and I too was at Wembley twice for the two superb victories. Add to that numerous cup wins in the non league and recent big scalps in the league cup. When you look back we've had some great times over the years with the promotions and never being relegated in 98 years. Contrast that with so called 'big club' Coventry City. I read somewhere that Saturday was the first time in 45 years that they've finished in the top six of a league! Yikes, what have we got to moan about?

I was at both games and fully agree with the different emotions comment. The only bad time at Wembley was after the match when a load of Dartford idiots came running round to our end looking for trouble.
I really thought we had blown it against Barnet producing, as Jim said, a very bad week until 4.50 on Saturday.
