10 years at the club now I believe?

Given his brilliant service and having literally kept us in the FL yesterday, surely he’ll be due a testimonial?

Totally agree , what Barry did yesterday was every bit as important as Danny Carlton and Thommos goals that got us in the league. Testimonial must be on the cards !

We take Baz for granted. We will only realise how good he is when we have to replace him.

Can't imagine Morecambe without him now!

When he got injured a couple of seasons ago, I didn't think he'd get back to his previous standard. Instead, he bounced back and surpassed it! He's been playing some of the best football of his career. Even his kicking has improved. One of the best keepers in League Two, if not actually the best!

So how did that work out then?

I don’t think we take him for granted at all - he was selected as player of the season by his peers and one of the travel clubs. He’s a fully deserving inductee to the Morecambe FC legends wall, receiving a nominations from supporters and selection by trustees from Shrimps Trust.

He has now played 400 football league games for Morecambe - a staggering achievement. Surely the best all-time goalkeeper to pull on the Shrimps jersey?

I wouldn't argue that Baz is our best ever keeper but for entertainment value he is not a patch on Lance Millard!

We oldies remember Lance with fondness. Centre forwards used to poo themselves when it came to corners. Ball or man....Lance didn't take any prisoners but throughout his time with us I can't recall him getting booked or sent off.

However by today's standards I doubt if he would have survived a season without getting booked or sent off.

Joe Lewis was awesome for his brief loan spell

He was excellent but was never our player.

Baz must be the best permanently signed keeper we have had.

I would say Steve Mcilhargey. He was a different gravy. Peter Mcdonald was also a top keeper.

I remember once when we were playing Nuneaton away in the conference. We had a narrow lead and the ball came into the crowd behind the goal at the Morecambe end. Helpfully I retrieved the ball and threw it to Steve. He caught it and whispered to me "Next time it goes out, leave it!!"
