Aye, but I noticed a plaque at the respection saying it had been built by Wasps Rugby Club, and Coventry Council too.

Something else I noticed they had a grave yard for people's Ashes and Memorial wall for deseased Football fans, never seen that at a Football ground before, something what would work for us on the back wall in our home end

Wasp now own the stadium. Not sure how much revenue City even get.

This.

Sat in the ground leading up to kick off, I was just thinking that if it was going to be our last ever game in the Football League then what a great place to play it in. Fortunately we’ll be playing another season in such grounds again next season, thanks to Jim.

Jimbo is 5/4 favourite with Skybet to get the Carlisle job, who can blame him if he goes

Here goes ------- I have upmost respect for Jim and what he has done for our club, we know he has minimal budget to build a squad but why so negative in so many games, 19 draws this season. Before yesterday, the last 3 games he went with 5 in defence with 2 defensive midfielders, why? We should have been more positive and played a team to go out and win, not draw. Yesterday with Fleming and Wylde we were far more positive and actually had a midfield capable of holding and retaining the ball. We have a decent squad this season , thanks to Jim, but due to poor team selections, tactics and substitutions we went into the last game of the season needing a point to stay in the football league. I honestly hope Jim is with us next season, we all know about his passion for the club, but he needs to take a big lesson from this season and be more positive, in other words, go out to won every game.

I genuinely want our new masters to give Jim a budget that enables him to bring into the club the quality and experience so badly needed. He deserves not to have his dealings determined by financial constraints.

A few weeks ago Jim spoke of it taking only a moderate increase in budget to take our club to the next level. Let's give him that opportunity and see if a team built in his image can bring back the good times. I'm sure he along with everybody else doesn't want another repeat of this past season.

If by doing so it means that I and others have to eat humble pie then I for one would welcome the opportunity. My criticism has always been about style and possibly with extra quality throughout the squad that criticism would no longer be justified.

Jim is and always will be a legend in my eyes but I don't regret questioning tactics and team selection.... that is a fans right just as iit is and was JImbo's right to respond as he saw appropriate.

When s does Jim contract finish 2020? So we could hold out for a decent compensation package if they wanted him. You couldn't stay d in his way but I would play hard ball with Carlisle and made sure we got a large fee.

Be fitting for the BoD to let Jim go without chasing for a seasons worth of compensation.

If the rumours are true that Carlisle have made an approach, then I reckon that will be the end of Jim's great association with our club. You would imagine that Carlisle would probably double his salary and give him a playing budget 4 or 5 times the size of ours. We just can't match that.

Which would you rather?
1. Stay another season and see if the new owners come up with the goods, either battling relegation or just having a good comfortable season.
2. Know you already have a decent squad in place (some you've already successfully managed) and the funds available to bolster it for a promotion push and a chance to manage that club in L1 the year after.

Carlisle are cutting their budget. One of the reasons Keith Curle left was because he said it wouldn't allow him to compete for a top 3 spot.

It will still be a lot more than ours !

I would like Jim to stay and be given funds to build a better squad, but he needs to sort his tactics out. No more pass round the back 4, then to the keeper, then HOOF ball every game, It's these negative tactics that have scared a lot of fans off. He also needs to concentrate on US and not the opposition , stop with the negativity about us punching above our weight, and having no training base etc etc.

I think that if we are in the bottom 6 come Christmas, then his position should be looked at. We can't have another season like that.

Despite what others may think I've only been critical of Jim regarding tactics and negativity which others have also expressed as a concern.

He is and will remain a club legend whatever happens.

Finding a replacement as dedicated as Jim would be a nightmare of a task...if not an almost impossible task.

However if the new owners can't give Jim the budget to be able to bring in much needed quality and sort out some training facilities (even out of town) then who could blame him from seeking a club nearer to his Wirral home.

If Carlisle have made an approach I'd hope that he would reject any deal based purely on a circa 3 hour drive to Carlisle from his home....making it a 6 hour round trip. :o

His position is safe , even tho it shouldn't be. So all I am saying is that maybe with a bigger budget, he should be given the chance to prove some people wrong! Including myself.

I can't believe some of you want Jim gone. If he does go it will be a case of 'you don't know what you've got until it's gone' - smallest budget in the league. He is performing miracles every single season. I would LOVE to see what he could do with a larger budget, but I just can't see it happening anytime soon.

Long live Jim Bentley.

Don't think he's moved at 3/1 with Bet Victor, think he's been there a while. The one where he has moved is on Sky Bet - 5/4 from (I think) 16/1.

I really agree with this. People are treating Saturday as if it was a title win. A fantastic day and a great turn out by the fans but that is it. Cov stopped playing for the entire 2nd half and we stayed up on GD. Barnet ran out of games, that is the only reason we stayed up. The majority of the players underperformed during the season and the tactics from Jim have been terrible. As great as Saturday was, we are league 2 on goal difference.

Part of me hopes Jim gets the chance to spend a few quid but my head still says a parting is for the best.

Have to say I completely agree with this. Jim has consistently outdone himself in player acquisition but then just let himself down on the utilisation of the players. Take the squad when we had Devitt, Miller, Barkhuizen, Mullin and Kev a couple of years younger. True we didn't have the particularly good defenders (Dugdale, Parrish) but surely that front line was worth more than finishing 21st? And this season, our most talented area has been defence which has performed excellently and while we haven't had as good attackers, surely the job of the manager is to get the best out of the players through tactics and style? We've played so many games with Rose and Kenyon in midfield, which is hardly much to go on for our forward players.

On a brighter note, good defenders are far less likely to be pinched than good attackers. With Lavelle on a new contract and people hopeful of Old staying, Jim will be able to focus more of his next budget towards some better attackers knowing that the core of his backline is secure.

Does anyone know if Jim actually wants to stay? I got the feeling after Barnet that he wasn’t sure.

I’m very conflicted. I think he deserves a shot with a bit more financial backing. I mean he’s been through a lot of bad times with us. But at the same time surely he knows he had to play a different style of football, because I don’t think some of the poor performances this/last season are down to the players.
