EFL..IN or OUT?

......and if our club is unable to finance continuing in the efl what then..... :?:

Surely the survival of our club has to be paramount or am I wrong.

I haven't supported our club for 60 plus years to see it disappear, despite what some seem to think.....

I ask again, if we can't afford the efl what then.... :?: Come on tell us...... :!:

Neil, dropping out of the EFL would in no way solve our financial problems. Lower income and lower crowds, less money from advertising and the corporate side. I really don't see how anyone can think it would be some financial panacea.

Exactly! I suspect our costs to be even mid-table Conference would be similar to what they are now. We'd have to drop two or three leagues to get to a break-even position, where a few hundred fans can support a team. We'd sink, never to return.

Four of the bottom seven in the Conference were at home. Of those, three (Guisley, Chester & Woking) had higher attendances than we got yesterday. Our average attendance this season would place us 20th in the Conference.

We'd be seventh in the Conference North.

But if you mention 'over achieving' or how amazing it is that a club our size is even staying in League Two, it is seen as a lack of ambition?

It was after all a local derby....so not surprising that the gate was larger BUT only circa 850 HOME fans at The Globe is of concern BUT let's hope that was down to the weather. Tuesday's game will no doubt see another poor attendance I fear.

3 home games in a week will be too much for some fans to afford.

I'm confident that if we had a regular winning team playing attacking football especially at The globe our average would be considerably higher than it is at the moment.

IF and when Jim is able to have a few extra pounds to spend thanks to possible new investment then we could attract a better standard of player.

On the last series of the documentary they nearly left over wages when they were been offered fulltime contracts they were wanting the equivalent of their full time job + part time football money and of course there are two of them!

Could Jimbo be linked with this one?

Unlike other clubs he or she wouldn't have to invest millions in a new stadium (other than improvements to the playing surface and the Omega stand). Money in revitalising the playing squad and funding a new training facility would be a priority but the basic infrastructure is already there and with new creative thinking could provide a regular income stream albeit not enough for the club to be totally self financing but certainly less of a financial cow on the current board.

I do wonder how many decisions Neville & Co make on the basis that it'll make for good drama and secure further series (and revenue) of "Class of 92"?

Fantastic article on Football 365 on ‘embracing relegation’.

If we struggle on for another couple of seasons with the lowest budgets and scraping an existence then this debate will come back. Only constantly bailing us out financially is keeping us here.
