I really hope somethings happens to prove these thoughts wrong.
Seemingly Carlisle make a decision tomorrow, so that might get the ball rolling

Jon Coleman , the reporter who covers Carlisle said that the Carlisle board will announce their new manager in the middle of next week.

They seem to think David Hopkin at Livingston will get the job and they have a play-off final this weekend hence the delay in appointing till next week.

The fans seem to want Neil MacDonald who was Sam's number 2 at one time and lives near Garstang.

I haven't seen too much lobbying from their fans to appoint Jim

The exact opposite if anything.

I think if Jim was unveiled as their new manager it would go down like a lead balloon.

On paper, Jim's record makes horrible reading.

One question for the Fan’s Forum.

In the brief announcement of the club’s takeover it stated in the first of two paragraphs.

The Board of Morecambe Football Club is pleased to confirm the sale of the majority shareholding in the Club to Bond Group Investments Limited.

To me that implies that the shares owned by G50 were sold to BGI.

So why were 4,023,260 new shares issued? This implies that G50 still retains its shares and, along with every other shareholder, have been heavily diluted.

I saw the entry on Companies House. I thought that just 100 shares had been issued increasing the issued share capital from 4,023,160 to 4,023,260.

I was very suspicious when the club was sold to Diego and I continue to be suspicious of this "sale". There is something about the whole business that we are not being told. Two people with apparently no previous interest in football, with no obvious connection with the area, buying us the week before we could have been relegated and with no significant funds in their companies, have apparently been approached by PMG and have bought the club. Presumably they are borrowing money against the club's assets and what then happens when we are unable to pay back this money? I remain sceptical that we are out of the woods yet and worry what happens a couple of years down the line. Will we have lost the car parks and the land around the ground?

Apologies. Pisspoor on my part. Myself and a corporate finance expert both misread the Share Register.

It seems, as Stuart Rae, has pointed out, the new shares issued were only 100 and were to the Shrimps Trust for a 0.03% stake. Power and influence has to start somewhere.

Still, it doesn’t change anything. The same questions still apply. What new money is there? Where did it come from? Who is providing it?

One thing I feel needs pointing out, without the new guys we were pretty much screwed anyway, everyone has opinions and some are very suspicious , me included, but where else was an owner of any description coming from, the club has no mega rich fans and it's never going to make much money , so we cannot do anything as supporters but watch and hope for the best, my personal feeling is that we are safe now for at least the coming season, but if it is left to carry on as it has been doing it will eventually fail as a business, so a new approach and fresh faces are needed on the commercial side asap.

Oh I completely agree mate! Last words from me are that there was no need for any of it, but that's what happens when you take issue with a troll. I'll just stick with the football in future so I'll leave you all to play nicely in here and see some of you at the Globe in August... ;)

Carlisle board and club is run shockingly. We think we have problems - it is only when you talk to fans you realise what a state clubs like Carlisle are in at high level.

In the Granada TV interview , I think the 2 new owners mentioned that a debt of £700,000 had been paid off. I would be interested to know the details on that transaction.

I would also be more happy when I see that the charge registered at Companies House by Mayfair Finance in April has been satisfied.

It's all possibly a tax dodge. Richard Branson did a similar thing years ago with Virgin, jumping money between the business' to avoid paying full tax.

We were thinking the same thing.

Mayfair Finance makes money from lending money to the club at an exorbitant rate.

Meanwhile Bond Group (effectively the same people) run the club at a loss and write the losses off against tax.

The big question is how they get back the capital they put up. Either they sell the club and recover it that way or go pop and recover it through the land and assets. Either way it has a short lifespan, unless they’re rich and don’t care about losing some money on their football play thing.

wether the intentions are good or not is irrelevant. ..if the people of this town want a football club they have to support it...we are in a mess primarily because of the apathy of the fans that don't come to support the club and I don't see that changing any time soon.

You’re starting to sound like a few people on the staff and board who think that blaming their customers is an intelligent thing. It isn’t. It is the end game. It is the culmination of people who’ve given up finding answers and instead blame everyone but themselves.

To succeed a business has to have happy loyal customers and works constantly to find the answers to maximize the experience. Good companies have databases of their customers; do market research; try to understand why people come to games and no longer do; they go to other clubs and trial ideas that worked for them; and they do basic things like marketing. On all of these our club fails miserably.

Good companies don’t lie to their customers about improvements to the experience and it doesn’t open a new shop and completely fail to build on what made the old one work. It certainly doesn’t blame its own customers who it desperately needs for its own failures.

It’s not too late to change it but if your view is the same as the board and staff then you may as well close the doors now or give it to someone who does understand the basics of running a business focused on its customers.

Apathy. FFS. They gave the club their money and the club didn’t do enough to get them to come back. Never blame them.

Just talking to a Leeds season ticket holder who said every week leeds didn't have a game they always went to Morecambe. However the football is so poor and negative I stopped going a while back they need to get a young attack minded Manager if they want to get people back.
