Called grockles in Devon but a bit further down they're known as emmets once they get to Cornwall. caravans are known as grockle boxes! Anyway it will be pouring down by then and they'll be moaning about the lout summer.

Only been to Devon once in my life, as an adult, but I know the term 'grockles' from growing up in Yorkshire in the '70s. Is it national or did one borrow the term from another?

No idea. I only heard the name when I came down here in the 80's. The word emmet used in Cornwall means ants as far as I understand it.

Don't think so I think they are basically just forking it, putting sand down and relaying similar to what you do with your lawn to get it ready for winter if you have drainage problems. I'm guessing you should probably do it every year but we can't afford to.

Looking good. As long as it's excellent for the first home league game, the home pre season game v Fleetwood could always be played at their ground or even their training ground for me. Looks as though there will be some new advertising boards on the Berlin Wall.

Certainly doesn't apply to businesses and possibly sport stadiums.

Looks like a bit of welcome rain coming across us tomorrow but with more warm weather to follow . Would be good to get the game on against Fleetwood just to see how the new pitch plays before the season starts .

Wonder if Chorley and ourselves have been a bit too quick to cancel the game, seeing that the weather forecast on Wednesday did promise rain today and that their ground would probably have been OK?
