The former shrimps player,coach, caretaker manager and supporter Gerry Irving sadly passed away this morning peacefully at St Johns hospice, there will be a formal announcement soon on the Official website with more details.

Really glad I was able to hear him speak at the Legends Night. Some great stories about his time at Workington with Bill Shankly and with us. In particular, what made the team at the end of the 60s so successful, and the players and management. Fantastically passionate, full of stories and funny.

A sad loss and thoughts with Gerry’s family, Lee and all those who knew him.
