Bay Gateway road thing O/T

I see they have had one lane of the new road coned off at the Slyne roundabout for nearly a week without any sign of a workman! . Anyone know what's going on and how long it is going to be like that ? . Came down it last night at probably the wrong time and it was standing traffic from one end to the other .

Tanker went over last Saturday mate. There was a large fuel spillage.

Not sure what's going on now though or if what you have seen is connected.

Still not sure the reasoning for the slip road off the main carriageway to have remained closed since the new road was opened. No doubt some wise old owl will know the reason why but it's not much different than that which is at the main roundabout at the top of the hill from the M6 / Lancaster junction. As a side issue the M6 is closed Southbound due to a lorry making love to a bridge.

It's remained closed Neil (so I'm told) because wagons were approaching it far too quickly and a good fair few went over within the first few days of it opening as it was deemed to be designed wrongly.

Again, someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Sounds like a job for a number of sleeping policemen to be installed, or even for some signage. They could probably help our club with the signage at the same time.

You can approach the roundabout at 50 according to the speed signs, but once your clear of the roundabout and looking over Torrisholme etc you then have to slow to 40. There have been numerous incidents at the roundabout since it opened, surely someone in the highways agency can sort some sort of speed reduction system. Oh and watch out for the deer. I don't know how much the signs are but in 60 years I've never seen a deer in that neck of the woods.
