Pre-season, over confidence!

Pre-season, over confidence!

Just made a deposit to the William Hill retirement fund! £35 to win the handicap league outright and £15 each way (top four). 30 points handicap, giving us a minimum of 2 points over every team and 30 head start on MK Dons. Currently six points ahead of Crewe. Hopefully tonight we'll be 9 points ahead! 8-)

So how did that work out then?

For me it all depends on whether our midfield can dictate in games rather than being bullied out of it as has happened in previous seasons. Get the engine room firing on all cylinders and provide the ammunition for Oswell and Co to deliver then for me I expect a mid table finish. Anything more would be a bonus. I want to see Jim adopt a more attack minded policy and make use of the terrific new breed of youngsters on the books because from what I've seen so far they offer something that we've been crying out for a number of seasons. I don't go along with the often quoted excuse that they are too young with no experience of the game at this level. You have to throw them in at the deep end otherwise they will never learn.Reserve team football in my opinion is of little value to such talent and is wasted. Jim has to be brave and throw caution to the wind and simply GO FOR IT.

Moaners like me will never criticise him for being bold and adventurous. :)
