Sounds like we were doing well, certainly our fans had started to make some noise, but they've scored. Suspicions of off-side according to the iFollow lads and PNE didn't re-play their goal on the big screen, which they did for the other two, adding to the conspiracy theory.

I'd Just like Oswell to score now and get off the mark, puts Jim under pressure to start him next game then.

First half wasn’t great.... second half was a lot better. Some really good performances. Noise was excellent and Preston only printed 400 tickets thinking we wouldn’t sell them.....

Much better second half. Oswell and AJ could be a really good partnership. I really liked Oswell, he was very feisty and trapped the ball better than Oliver. Oates was good out on the wing with the ball at his feet. Carlos Mendes Gomes...Jim must start him, he looked a very special talent when he came on.

Negatives were Sinclair, Kenyon and Fleming. I think 4-4-2 could work nicely but we may be a bit stretched in centre midfield. Could really do with Tutte back if we’re going to go that way. Would like to see Jagne in there too. Kenyon was shocking tonight and Fleming had a stinker, although he is technically capable.

The first half was terrible. PNE sussed us out, stretched us and made us chase shadows.

The 2nd half formation and intensity x 44 games please Jim

As the others have said, a very poor first half where we just looked totally inferior and PNE passed it around with ease.

Second half much more positive, the subs changed the game (not so much Kev, but never mind).

Oswell was my MotM, he was a nuisance all game and plays that role better than Oliver. Leitch-Smith linked the midfield and attack well and Gomez-Mendez had a great cameo, causing problems from either wing. All three should start the next game.

Anyway, the main thing is we scored a goal!

This game was a perfect showcase for Oliver, I reckon he'd have bagged a brace and caught the eye of the PNE boss!!

Opportunity missed

The team in the 2nd half with the subs on made all the difference. Start off Saturday where we left off, although why Kev just booted the ball high and wide after a great cross from C.M.G. I dont know.

There was life , movement and quite a bit of confidence out there for a while against a very good team.

Frightens me how much space we generally gave them on the wings in the first half though, they often had 20 yards of space and sometimes 2 of them on each side!

Was that a Cup Tie or a belated pre season game? Our display in the first 45 was poor with both our full backs guilty of leaving too much space for the opposition wide men to capitalise on. However the second 45 with the introduction of A Jay was a more positive performance and for me the combination of Oswell and A Jay is the only way forward. Unfortunately the performance of Sinclair was poor as was the contribution of our elder statesman Kevin and although JB regards Kevin as his best ever signing I think the time has come when age is catching up with Kevin and that his contribution over 90 minutes is no longer what it was, unfortunately. Despite the result, the second 45 should give JB more confidence in our ability to perform as a unit and start to deliver positive results. Tutt when fit will make a difference to the midfield as would the introduction of Gomes and Jagne despite their inexperience but it's the only way that both will prove valuable assets by giving both extended game time.

It was scary to see how another manager picked the tactics to bits so easily last night. That has nothing to do with the calibre of player, just one manager against another.

Fair play, Jim did change it but we were 2-1 down and shattered by then. We looked so much better in the 2nd half. So refreshing to see us putting a team on the back foot for a change

1st Half = Shocking!
2nd Half = Much better.

Jim surely must have seen how much more of a threat we are with Oswell and A.J upfront. Carlos Mendes Gomes was brilliant when he came on, he was literally everywhere.

I just hope Jim doesn't resort back to starting Vadaine on his own. We were much better in a 4 4 2 . Let's just hope he has finally seen the light.

Good to see so many at the game last night, decent atmosphere by the chanters up top. Shame about the result, as I felt we were going to get back in it, and then boom, they got the 3rd on the counter attack out of nothing, I believe if that didn't happen, we might have gone on to win the game.

Flemming and Kenyon are not the answer in centre mid, we got battered through the middle in the 1st half, it was far to easy for PNE. Both should be dropped. Thought Conlan had a stinker too.

Just watched the highlights. First viewing it looked offside but watching it again and pausing the screen as the ball is played and it was onside. Typical Radio Biased commentary team! :D

Damn right!
Don’t get the opportunity to see things twice, we all thought it was a tight decision and my first glance at the liner caught him running a couple of yards behind play, such was the speed of the attack.
