Team for Stevenage (predictions)

I know people will be Drooling for 4-4-2 with Oswell now, just like me.

But with playing away, I think Jim will stick with 4-2-3-1 and shuffle the personal instead, and replace Ellison for younger legs and more energy for a few games.

Roche
Mills Old Varney Cranston
Fleming Tutte
Mandaville Wildig Oates
Olivier

And Oswell it will be a case of he's being developed slowly.

You could well be correct, but I hope not.
Tutte may still have tight hamstring so may not be risked.
Id still start with Oswell, even in the 4-2-3-1!!!

I don’t like 4-4-2 generally but after last night, I think it’s what is called for. We will have to be careful not to get overrun in central midfield though. I would like to see:

Roche
Mills Old Yarney Cranston
Mendes-Gomes Tutte Fleming/Jagne Oates
Oswell Leitch-Smith

Of course, Tutte’s hamstring may still be a problem. Still, please let’s have a bit of intent Jim.

I suspect you could be right. As much as I/we thought Oswell was a constant threat last night and put himself about, I expect JB and Co to revert back to '53 games and 3 goal machine' Oliver which for me would be do nothing for the confidence of Oswell and A jay who for me should now be our combined strike force. Also, again for me, I'd start with Gomez who added a positive dimension to our play in the last 15 minutes and like Jagne will surely prove to be a cut above what we have at the moment.

That team would do for me as long as Cranston stops his 40 yard passes to nobody and still got Manderville and Wildig for cover . :D

One thing we can all agree on is with this 4-2-3-1 we've definitely been sussed out off Scouts with our fullbacks.

it was happening last season, and it's more noticible this season with teams doubling up overlapping our fullbacks.

And probably explains why where on such a bad run.

Predicting the score is hard enough, but without knowing 8 of the starting line up and in which position, i aint got a clue yet.
Wonder at what point in the weeks training the players find out the above.
Presume Mills will be back, Old and Yarney likely, Cranston & Conlan toss up,
Tutte if fit, then its anyones guess....Flemmo, Kenyon, Wildig, Kev, Gomez, Oates, Mandeville
AJ, Oswell, Oliver

Thats 16 outfield players, any of which could start in any formation you can think of.... Bring back 1-11, get a settled team knowing what their jobs are, so we all have an idea of what is going on please, dont like the management with so many choices
Enjoy yourself.... It is later than you think

442 with a traditional number 10 linking the midfield with the striker, 100 per cent graft, men behind the ball, bodies on the line, no complicated instructions, it's footy not chess!!

I think there’s been some confusion.
To clarify: Is this the thread where we post our score predictions for Saturday as it is titled Team predictions?

Ive been watching video's of Sinclair and having seen him play now, he clearly isn't a full back. I think with his build and energy, he would do a great job sat in front of the back four.

No manager will risk playing a 4 man midfield these days. As exciting as it was to see the other night, it won't happen. There are other ways of playing two or three up front instead of the ineffective inside forwards that Jim persists with. I am hoping when Sam is fit, Jim goes with a back three which gives more options further up the park.

Yeah, I think a confusing thread title resulting in confusion!

As so many score predictions are here, we may as well continue!

If Jim decides to start with the team & formation as the second half at Preston, we may get somewhere. Go back to previous League games and another 'nil' for us and something for them, so firmly bottom of the league.

Surely Jim will ring the changes?

2-1 to Morecambe! :D
