Christie The Cat

This is a bit like Posh defending Liverpool here Keith.

He has wasted tax payers time and mis used facilities paid for by Public money. I'm not sure how my boss would react if i spent time using his phone knocking up messages to a lass in his office whilst we should both be working. How many more are at it in those Ivory towers? We should stick him in some stocks in the middle of the arndale and lob rotten fruit at him.

The content of the messages is irrelevant other than how funny they are. I'm not fussed about what he wants her to hold on to or how naughty she has been. The fact is he has made himself look a wally on our time and with our money.

Flirting with someone over email/text whilst at work? Who cares?
People who check the weather or the news are misusing their work equipment. This is only in the paper because the messages are a bit cheeky.

The biggest crime here is how cringe worthy and embarrassing the messages are.

He's an elected representative to 2 public bodies. His decisions impact all of us. Bang out of order on so many levels.

Completely agree. People waste time at work all the time. People chatting while making a cup of coffee. Smokers nipping out for a fag. General office gossip, even phone calls that are more than directly to the point. As you say, cringeworthy and cheesy, but hardly a hanging offence. If there was evidence that they were shagging in the office, or if she wasn't happy to receive the emails then fair enough as that's a different offence entirely. He's been a bit of a dick. Whether the voters will punish him next time around remains to be seen. Or whether they couldn't care less...

Is he a decent councillor?

So how did that work out then?

Deserves all he gets and more? I think the humiliation is in the national press is probably proportionate to the 'crime'.

I suppose at least it's someone new for you to campaign for their sacking.

The cat still has a bowl of milk in Lancaster but his high chair in Morecambe has been taken away from him.
