But he's had more than enough time and unfortunately there is no sign of improvement, exactly the opposite in fact.If Jim can't change it then the time must have finally come to give someone else a try. Yes we have a limited budget and it might not work, but something has to change to liven things up, we simply can't go on as we are. Gary Bowyer did an excellent job in difficult circumstances at Blackpool and would be a good fit, but I couldn't see him jumping from the frying pan into the fire.

What the club has turned in to hurts me the most. Plucky little Morecambe fighting against the odds has died under Jim's management. I don't lay the blame on Jim solely. The fans who come on here and other social media banging on about being happy with your lot and accepting our demise are too blame as well. The BoD(current and former) who have taken us from one farce to another and treated us fans with utter contempt are to blame. I do not look forward to watching Morecambe, the whole thing has become a chore to me. I love the club, it is a huge part of me but once where I had pride in being one of the few Morecambe fans I know have an anger to what it has become.

One thing that I'm sure we all have noticed is that irrespective of results or performances JIm appears to have the support of a number of the 'younger' fans in the Omega stand. Their vocal support of him both at the Globe and at PNE the other night must be music to the ears of the Board and Jim himself. I often wonder how representative of the fans SVs and other social media is when one hears the vocal support Jim has or is it a case of the 'silent majority' not voicing their thoughts and opinions...either way.

and that is how it should be. The chanting on Tuesday was brilliant and it would be really sad to see the younger fans soured by the form on the pitch. Long may they continue to sing, they are a credit to the club.

For the record, I still back Jim but if results continue as they are and a change became necessary...

Promoting a player (Drummy or Kev etc) to Manager would be a mistake and I couldn’t see it happening.

When Sammy Mac left, there was a feeling that we’d spent too much money on agents, none of the players cared enough etc, and we needed someone with a ‘back to basics’, man management approach who would unify everyone at the club. I still think that promoting Jim Bentley from within was the perfect appointment, at the time.

This is a different situation now. If we were to hire a new manager, it would need to be someone with tactical nouse from outside the club to bring fresh ideas.

Agree, long may they continue and as you say are a credit to our club. It's probably a small minority who use this and other social media to express their concerns and that includes myself, but it's the style and tactics not the manager that my issues are with.

As for promotion from within, I would like to think that Kevin would know by now what is needed and play a system that fits the players. I notice after the Exeter game he sat on the bench for some time looking somewhat frustrated as if in deep thought about how to change things.

We keep dancing to this tune... I genuinely believe we would have been relegated in previous seasons if it hadn't been for Jim. Players & staff repeatedly not being paid, yet Jim still managed to keep things together. That isn't the same as 'accepting our lot', but it is accepting the reality of what we've been through.

I think that things need to change on the pitch very quickly and Jim needs to become more adventurous, and bloody quickly too. I think we've got the basics of a good squad, that are capable of playing positively, so Jim needs to get them doing so. But to be dismissive of the chaos we've been through in previous seasons is why we keep arguing. Someone like Westley, who was mentioned in the list of potential replacements, would have destroyed the club had he been here during the time when players weren't paid. And Sammy McIllroy wouldn't have kept us in the league without double Jim's budget!

He's under massive pressure and a clock will be ticking somewhere, but let's hope he turns this season around quickly... starting on Tuesday!

So how did that work out then?
