AJ lucky not to see red after stamping on Keepers foot. After he threw ball at him. Ref saw both so let it go.

Cracking finishes for both goals though and a nasty deflection for theirs.

I'm still not sure. I thought he was just onside, but the angle isn't clear enough. But what a superb finish. Maybe a long ball to Flemmo rather than Oliver might actually work when needed.
I thought the ref was very good and there were no complaints during the match from the commentary team, which was a first this season too (maybe even Freeze would have been happy).

About the ref?
They have been pretty good this season generally TBF.

Hahah I think you don't always realize!
Anyway, really looking forward to listening to you again when you're back soon as your commentary is absolutely brilliant and hugely entertaining. It makes the matches so enjoyable and I'm sure it must be unique in the football league and please keep saying it as it is with those refs when decisions are 'wrong'
Ok, I don't want this to sound like a Freez lovefest :o , but your commentary is the absolute best I've heard since I lived in Valencia in 1990/91 (and has evolved like a fine wine since the matchlive times). Now you just have to work on how to say 'GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL' (like without breathing for 30 seconds).
Get well soon!

Yesterday's ref (Eltringham) has worked at Championship level, he was the one Tony Pulis moaned about for being allowed to officiate a Middlesbrough game when known to support Sunderland :D

From where we were in stand D, Flemo looked onside - just. Sadly in D we could also hear a few boos when Vadaine was subbed on. Never right to boo your own, whatever you think of their ability. I hope they felt bad later, as it was him that started the ball forward for Flemo's goal. Good to see him getting stuck in further back like that instead of being isolated out front all the time.

Don't think you can get much clearer than that.

Yep VAR would've let the goal stand too! It was probably the defender stepping up and Fleming running through that had us thinking he was offside. He still had plenty to do and finished very well. Probably the most forward movement he's done in a while! :D

Fleming may well be a late blossomer, he has been superb in most games this season. And alongside Wildig and Tutte, three useful footballers!

Great image for the offside. Thought BerlinWalller said 10 yards off

Think our first goal was pretty lucky. Bit of a hit and hope towards the face of goal and hit the keepers inside leg.

Possibly, however I think he hit it early instead of taking a touch to catch the keeper out. If you dont shoot!!!

Indeed, how much have pretty much all of us moaned about not shooting enough?

He didn't 'accidentally' catch the keeper out, he knew a shot from a super tight angle with a defender tight on him would be unexpected - so that's why he took it. I believe he mentioned this in his interview?

.. Also Oates deserves some praise.

In the first half on the right wing he cut inside and then took a decent shot with his left foot from outside box on target to force a save.

Nice having a player who's comfortable on either side.

So from what I've read on this and other threads, while we were all relieved to get a win, there were some posts to the effect that we should have won easier against 10 men and that Macclesfield were really poor, the majority are praising the work/skill of most of our players. Oates, AJ, Flemmo, Mandy, Wildig and Tutte have all be 'mentioned in dispatches' plus praise for the quality of passing etc. Add to this the undoubted quality of Baz, Lavelle etc. Surely we must now start looking forward to the next game with anticipation instead of the usual trepidation.

Onward and upward from here on :D
