Well done lads! Sounds as if you played really well and were unlucky. Luck will change so stick at it.

3 tough games coming up now so it will be a good test of how far we've come. Very unlucky with the injuries stacking up but there are some useful lads waiting their turn so we can still do well.

Apart from the first 10 minutes were it took us a little to calm down I felt we played some really good football and thought we were going on to grab 3 points.
Thought the officials had a very poor game as already mentioned on here but especially the linesman at the home end who I thought gave them both goals.
If Conlon was to be pulled up for his shoulder charge then the same official failed to spot several pulling of shirts and elbowing in the second half which should have been blown for but kept his flag down.
penalty shouts and chances but felt things were against us, however what a game to watch and be part of, play like this every week and things will happen, thought all the team put in a shift today and deserved something from the game.

What a great game of football today, spoilt only by some appalling decisions from the officials. Proud of the team, true grit, to battle back from 3-1 down against a good Tranmere side, they deserved at least a point. More of the same, and we will trouble plenty of teams. Looking forward to Carlisle already.COYS.
Really pleased for Oliver, will boost his confidence no end.

Didn't realize it was Trevor Kettle reffing today , now I understand why a great game of football was ruined by an inept official and his equally inept linesmen .
Well done to the shrimps put everything into that performance today sadly for nothing but I'm sure fortunes will change !

Wonderful game of football today, irrespective of the result a real pleasure to watch. A few comments:

1. Trevor Kettle and the linesmen were appalling. Should have had at least one penalty and it was clear foul on Rochey for their opener.

2. While Mills was otherwise excellent he lost the battle with their winger. The first he read the move but didn’t try to block it when he could have and the winner he couldn’t keep up with him.

3. No mention above about King Tutte. I thought he was fantastic with Aaron. His touch, movement, passing and reading of the game is fantastic. Great move he orchestrated with Mandi for the equaliser.

4. Vadaine was much better playing in an attacking side that gave him space. If he had the dirty in your face attitude of Paul Mullin it would help.

At least 4 great saves from Baz, 2 in the first few minutes and 2 in the second half. The handball in the first half, if the ball wasn't in play then i don't think it could've been a corner! Poor from the officials. I thought at 1-3 the game meandered for a while then we scored a second out of nowhere ( think the helicopter got an assist).Put up a brave fight but was too late. Nice to see Oliver score at last. Marketing opportunity for a t-shirt?? How much trouble will Mellon be in for punching Tutte??
Don't worry be happy!

Awful officials spoilt a fantastic game. Something has to be done about the standard of officiating for it is deciding league positions and who gets relegated. With competent, fair officials today would have been a different scoreline. There is no place for referees like today's in league football.

Deserved at least a point in what was some excellent entertainment fr om both sides despite the awful refereeing performance.. Thought that Oliver could have tried a wee it more in the first 45 but clearly improved in the second. Pleased for him regarding h is goal just hope he can gain confidence from it. For me Mullers for them has improved a lot as a player leading their line well and holding up the ball well.

As for the after match goings on. From my position it appeared to all kick off when Kevin and their assistant manager seemed to have a heated exchange resulting in players from both sides having a pop at each other.

More entertaining games like that and we could see an increase in home gates.

Well done to Mandy who improves with every game.

Without any doubt this is the most skilful and entertaining group of players that we have had in a very long time, once again walking home after a defeat feeling positive, disappointed yes but only because we didn't get the result that the performance deserved.

The only downside is the cheap goals we are giving away if we can sort that out then not only will we be safe but we should climb well up the league on the other hand if we don't then we could still be in trouble.

If the owners really want to see the club progress then let Jim bring in a couple of players in the January window to bolster the defence.

This was the epitome of good performance, poor result. A lot of fight and spirit in the team and the comeback from 3-1 was beautiful. Shame it couldn't hold. Fight on, you Shrimps!

Meanwhile on Twitter, I've offended some Tranmere fans by stating that the officiating was bad. I did not say it was fixed or biased, only that it was bad.

The general consensus of opinion was that it wasnt Micky Mellon who threw the punch at the excellent Andrew Tutte but it was Eric Nixon the goalkeeping coach. It would be interesting to see the fracas again as to what started it There were that many Scousers in the ground it was like Aintree !

Great game to watch, battered for 10 minutes, then we scored then up against it, then back into it, brilliant, then the officials stepped in, caused havoc, Oates injured but somehow stayed on the pitch. 3.1 down looked buried, then came back in to it, officials didnt like it, but back to 3.3, shut the away end up, looked like we might win then officials do it again and we come away with nothing. Score 3 and lose - unbelievable but enjoyable, then the carnage at the final whistle.
Boxing Day might be lively

Lavelle vs Mullin

Sam bossed him, won the majority of 1 v 1 battles, brilliant defender, id be getting him tied down on a long term contract.

Agree about Sam. He is going to go upwards and we want a decent fee so he needs a long contract.

We need Old back as soon as possible. That first Tranmere goal was a ridiculous free header from 6 yards.

Left back for me is another position that needs addressing , so many crosses and goals originate from there.

Good effort from the lads who played their part in a cracking game. Oates is class but blows out of his arse after 60 mins. Mandy is the new Twissy, really enjoy watching him and we have someone who can dominate the middle of the park in Tutt. Agree about Sam, he does look the real deal.

Same old story with the full backs, we get hammered down the flanks time and again. Terrible linesman but the the foul on Mandy was the right call, the lad tripped himself up.

Yes, Nixon got a red card for it. Looking at a video on Facebook from the C Prem stand, Scott Davies was heavily involved in the middle of the fracas and had to be manhandled away by his own players.

The Scott Davies incident involved our own goalkeeping coach and I wonder if this is a throw back to relations between the two when he was with us on loan?

I noticed that Baz was trying to calm both of them down too little affect.

All credit to Jim who quite firmly told our players to leave the field in no uncertain terms.

spoke to Scott after the game and he explained that he was trying to calm it down when somebody slapped him on the back of his head (cough cough Lavelle) he said it all started when one of their defenders punched somebody and apparently he did it last season in another game.

Yeah Jim was particularly angry for the second, yet another water bottle went bouncing. Good to see Scott after the game and Baz being joined by Garry Hunter, Alex and Danny C for his do later on :)

A real quality technical performance from the midfield and attack. I think Mandy, Oates and Tutte were the outstanding performers. Calm on the ball, valuing a pass and good attacking instincts. I thought we moved the ball very well, especially in the transition from defence to attack.

A few unanswered questions at the back. We seemed well organised with a good shape, but kept switching off and players found themselves out of position a few too many times. I'm not sure if it all comes down to communication, but a few of the players seemed to be having a go at Yarney for not communicating. Our back four were also very young (Conlan 23, Lavelle 22, Yarney 21, Mills 26) and maybe lacking a bit of experience?

Anyway, plenty of positives, plenty of entertainment and on another day we'd have run out winners. Onwards and upwards!

I thought those three were outstanding for us, great control passing and movement.
