We've got something in common

Postby Southstand(again) » Fri Oct 19, 2018 11:48 am

Hi, all
Worcester Warriors fan in peace.
As you may be aware your Club owners have just joined the board of the Worcester Warriors Rugby Club.
There has been an awful lot of unrest amongst us supporters since former Swindon town chairman Jed McCrory headed a consortium take over of our club. https://www.worcesternews.co.uk/sport/16993154.morecambe-colin-goldring-and-jason-whittingham-join-warriors-board/
I was just wandering what experience you have had so far with your take-over ?
The general feeling appears to be to wait and see. but some of us are fearing the worst.
The silence coming from the new board is "Deafening"

I would agree totally with your last 2 sentences... they have committed to us for "2 years" , we wait to see what happens after that.

Good luck

It's a bit like the film close encounters of a third kind, where the alien ship appears and then nothing happens, and everyone's wondering what next??

Southstand - When you get new owners you expect a bit of fan fare and for them to lay out their ambitions and plans etc. We expected them to bring people in off the field to help boost the old field revenue and kick us into some sort of shape so we stopped loosing money. So far nothing has happened if anything it has got worse because two well respected directors left the other week.

Like you say the silence is deafening which just leads to people making up their own theories etc of what their end game is.

Not sure that nothing has happened. The new Sales Manager Jack Ryan mentioned on Linkedin that he had secured 3 commercial deals. The first of which was announced on the OWS the other day as being Ace Scaffolding Limited having naming rights to the home end stand for the next 3 years.

Although ACE is just a replacement for Purple Property so we haven't really attracted new people it's more of an existing sponsor.

Will be interesting to see what the other two deals are I would really like to see us attracting new sponsors/investment that have had no connection to the club previously instead of relying on the loyalty of the same sponsors year on year.

Ok, three commercial deals. For me the two nateural question's that follow from the fanbase are:- What the value of the deals is, and if there is any of the money available for squad affairs. Yes I'm curious, but willing to wait for info from the hierarchy, but for those more sceptical this will deepen the criticism.

Thanks for the responses,

It would appear we are already having the same conversations on the Worcester forum.
We are currently approaching 500 posts on our "New Owners" topic.

Maybe - Hope for the best - prepare for the worst.

The Ace scaffolding deal was the worst kept secret as the Omega stand was rebranded a full week before the Tranmere game, but it was only revealed last week in the press!! Strange, but happily take the money.

I sat and listened to our owners at the forum and I came away impressed. I bought in to what they had to say and felt they deserved some faith from the fans. A few months have passed, PMG's shadow still looms over us and our owners have joined a Board of a Rugby club whilst doing nothing at our club. It's time for answers from these two men.

Southender - you may have seen this already but you’ve had one of these slapped on you already https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/comp ... 45/charges.

Although different financing, it is similar to ours and worth a look.

Of the two Goldring I find by far the least credible. He calls himself the “Ferrari Lawyer” and clearly likes like the big time, despite living in what looks like a former council house in Essex.

He has also setup some hilariously funny companies operating from said home in Essex.

Global Advanced Limitless Telecommunications Ltd
World Finance Federal Reserve Ltd
Terranga Grand Vision Development Ltd

Companies of a fantasist.

Yes , I pointed out on another thread that the Ace Scaffolding stand had been announced on the club's official twitter a few days before the Tranmere game.

Why would buying a Rugby Club benefit Morecambe FC ??

I notice 3 new companies have been filed this week at Worcesters Sixways Stadium.

Militibus Quanco Ltd

MQ Property Co Ltd

WRFC Players Ltd.

Good luck with whatever that means for you, Mr. Southstand

For all things Worcester Warriors http://www.rugbynetwork.net/boards/list/s130.htm.

Would be worth regularly checking the status at our sister sports team.

Most interesting thing on their is that Jason and colin are there every week, how many times have they been to morecambe?

Does sound like they want to sell us to concentrate on the rugby.

They did say at the fans forum that the rugby club losses were something like £5 million per year so probably needs a bit more attention than the Shrimps.

But £200,000,000 is being divided out between the RFU clubs.

A posh day out at the Rugger or a trip up north to watch League 2 footy with 1200 grumpy northerners?
