Jeff Stelling: 'It shouldn' all be about return and investment if you love the Football Club...' - - I loved our Football Club, but nobody listened, used to stand on that Carwash at Christie no matter what the weather, even throughout the winter... on occasions there was just the the three of us. (Much to the annoyance of the one steward who had to be there by law)... It started to become a crap day out since the move and still is. Our crowds have been dropping for years, nothing to do with injuries or money, no idea who our new owners are and can safely say, they have no love for our Club, otherwise we would have maybe seen them, or heard their intentions. But no, it all stinks.

This feels like a conversation that will be happening a couple of years from now... So why, why!? Was nothing done about the things that turned people like me away? Everyone voiced their opinions, everyone had their say, but no, 'if you don't like it, don't bother coming...'... Gutted. Really miss looking forward to Saturdays home games and mid week catch up with football pals. But they don't go any more either... but hey, if you don't like it, don't bother coming. Onwards and upwards eh? - Same with that thread the other day about the bar prices... same old crap, same old excuses, same old, same old... and where has that got you? Empty. Get a grip with reality and people might stay an extra 10 minutes... to start with... Once again, said this before, it's all crap and needs a massive kick up the arse (football aside)... Get the right people in the job and see what happens. Stop making excuses as to why things don't happen.

People like myself (all weather committed fans) who don't come anymore? The Club is in decline and absolutely nothing is being done about it. Happy and greatful to be in the football league? Couldn't give a shit. Just want entertaining and a laugh with mates, something that has been lacking for years at the Globe. It's boring, feels like we are playing in a prison, cramped in, no atmosphere, no room, no mingling with pals... nothing. We are in decline and nothing has been done and nobody has listened. I've travelled down to Salford three times and had a cracking day out - like it used to be at Christie!... pie and a pint, entertaining football, not like we are now... just greatful to be in the football league. Bollocks to that. I'm not greatful about anything to do with my once loved local Club. (Lifetime Season Ticket Holder btw).

It's the fans who see things a bit differently that are quite simply, detrimental to the survival of the Club. You have to open your eyes and see what is actually happening, as well as the reasons why! Not all about the crap football we have endured.

Jibe away but his points are valid and well made. Just a normal fan who fell out love with the club, one of many. It will just be the iplayer team commentating for Keith and the Freebie lot if the Club doesn't open its eyes soon.

Fair question. I suppose I was saying that I didn't like the suggestion that a bunch of defensive, all slating, crap throwing, freebie grabbing, thought police dictate what people can say on here. It's usually (almost always) just people disagreeing but some of the reactions by some of those being disagreed with seem, to me, to jump into a Trump type of over reaction and become pettily and childishly insulting. After all we do all support the same club and we all want them to do well. We're all true fans.

For what it's worth I am also disappointed about the decline and the falling off of support BUT I think there are complicated reasons for that. Some people in the club have acted more for their own best interest and others (like Jim Bentley) have done their best with extremely limited resources. I think the football has been bad in previous seasons mainly because we haven't been able to attract decent enough players, but also, I do think we have had some very bad luck with key players injured from a very small squad. So, I for one, have been reasonably happy to have kept in the league in the hope that finance/investment may improve before we implode - and the days of playing slick winning football become more common again. I reckon there's not a lot I can do apart from keep going, support the players, join the Trust and express concerns to people who matter, when I get the chance.

And yes, though I've lost some terrace colleagues I've (desperately ) gained some others. I still enjoy the Craic and this season I'm enjoying the footy again. Come and stand with me, Moose, I'll tickle your ribs and but you a pie.

Expecting the club to do certain things to get you back through the gates, they don’t owe you anything. I think a lot of people like this need to get a grip and get down to the globe and actually try and enjoy themselves rather than expecting the club to pull out all the stops to get them back!!!
