I would have done the down stairs bar as an Away Bar, and posh upstairs one for Home supporters.

Segregation for those who have and can and those who maybe can but just can't? Family Club? Blimey.Should be the same for everyone.

I am quite at ease with the whole idea. Squeeze a few quid extra out of the people who have the cash by dangling the prestige of having access to a posh warm suite and a pint at half time. That makes sense to me, a bit like a higher tax rate for the wealthy. If you do it though, you have to police it better to keep the exclusivity. If you don't, people will cotton on and stop paying the extra but still use the facility.

I use to do this very Job.

In Theory) the Steward at the top of the Stairs should check peoples tickets one by one to catch people out from D&E.

In Practice) you just end up with a BIG queue with people trying to get to the Bar for a short 15min break at H/T and "Piss People right Off" !!

So whats the Answer??

Do as Moose says and charge the white seats as much as the red or vice versa. Put padding on the red seats and more leg room? If you are going to charge extra, you have to give them something for it.

Yeah, good shout regarding padding on the seats, loads of leg room anyway, but putting prices up i dont think is a good idea.

Then reduce the red seat prices as you are not getting any benefit. Don't we have a Commercial manager and a Sales manager now? Surely they could organise this better

But surely the extra they pay is for a better seat and better viewing? Forget the access to the bar nonsense. It's yet another eye opener as to why the place is empty! Everyone should have access, regardless. I'm not saying charge more for the white seats at all, the red seats have great viewing. That's the privilege you pay extra for surely? Not access to the bar for a comfy pie and a pint at half time? It's crackers!

If you go in before half time, the steward sometimes asks to see your ticket. Once the whistle is blown, it's a free for all.

D&E cost you 21, C1&2 24 and CPrem is 26. I can understand the 26 i guess as you are almost on halfway but I am and i pay 16. The freebie brigade pay nowt and still use the suite so they trump everyone.

So quite simply, all the white seats are not allowed in the bar upstairs at all... Where the presentations are, where the man of the match awards are, where the after game atmosphere is! Blimey. I give up.

It is a flawed system then. If the Stewards aren't doing their job then that is wrong but if he/she is over run then the club should provide more staff. It just sums the club up really, just a botch it and do one kind of mentality

Moose is right, it's no big deal who goes in the posh bar if it's half empty anyway, more in there spending the better, the c prem folk are nearly all season ticket holders anyhow and have the best seats, so what's the problem, I usually pay to sit in the red seats or hospitality and don't personally care who's in the posh bar, it needs to be accessible to all as there is plenty of room in it due to our lack of fans.

When i did this sometimes id have another Steward with me and many a time Mark Dixon, but like i said before, you just create a big queue of pissed off people.

and its only a small staircase where you can only let people in one by one outside on that Terrace.

You cant win, its hard to manage.

However you obviously didn't like what happened following the move to the Globe and you decided to vote with your feet. Fair enough but that should be the end of it. It's up to the club to decide if they want to entice fans like you back to the ground but that's their problem not yours.
Chill.

Please don't think I am having a go pal, it's just things like this. There are just so many simple problems that could be so easily ironed out. We need to become a Family Club again, not pretending we are something we aren't and something we never will be.

All the best.

Rod Taylor if available, ticks all the boxes.Club Legend!

Oh sorry I think I'm on the wrong thread. This has now become the moan..moan, who can have a pint where, moan...moan thread. Get a bloody grip. If the stand was full it would be an issue and wouldn't be feasible to allow everyone in the upstairs bar. When it's a third full (majority of the time) It's not really an issue and there's plenty of room for those who want a pint at half time.

Stood here with the other poor folk on the Berlin wall, I have watched so many people from the white seats wander past the red seats, stewards and then up in to the local choice suite. Is that allowed now or are they pulling a fast one? Are the stewards complicit in this? Are these fans stealing from the club? I don't know how these fans dare to criticise others on here. Rotten to the core

It depends on your ticket whether or not you get a wristband for the Local Choice Suite. Usually a complimentary ticket (families of players etc) will receive a wristband and be seated in block E. Pretty sure there isn’t an ongoing scheme for stewards to let people in without wristbands.

Can’t quite understand whether you were joking with original comments, apologies if you were.

My thoughts exactly who cares who drinks where as long as there spending money. If your that sad you stand on the other side of the pitch and watch fans standing up and then follow them till they get to the bar you need to get a life. Actually can’t believe it’s come to people moaning about things like this after we get 3 points at home!

Thanks for your input Phoenix... blimey. A constructive debate where no one has fallen out and you choose to have a go at people that actually care. There was no moaning, no arguing - it was all constructive - and I for one hope that Rod reads this. A third full? Please... Well there's no issues then is there and no problems, nothing to be debated or dwell upon. All is fine and dandy.
No offence intended, just didnt like your approach to a constructive debate about segregation.

Hey MFCJOE.... no input other than who cares? Well clearly, a lot of people who matter care. You obviously haven't read the actual thread as to where people can actually drink and spend their money. But then again, I wouldn't have expected you to.

Yes ..in defence of berlinwaller ..watching the goings on in the main stand has probably been the most exiting thing going on at the globe lately...if he cant afford to sit in it ..maybe he should apply to be a steward and he could supervise it himself

Don’t mean to upset anyone just my first thought when reading was shock of people actually commenting on such a thing when they have no knowledge of the ticketing system? Never mind whether the people going in the bar actually have a ticket. Even suggesting some sort of inside job with the stewards.

Your all more than welcome to site wherever you want within the ground, no one is making you sit / stand in a certain place.

If I remember rightly Moose you don’t even go the the games anymore but still feel the need to comment on goings on of the club on here almost daily.

Again, a great 3 points today.

*1 - nobody inferred an inside job, lets get that straight.
*2 - was last Saturday my unwarranted outburst, not daily.... and before that? Nope... and since? Daily?
*3 - you are wrong about the seating.
*4 - yes, a great 3 points today.
*5 - no knowledge of the ticketing system? Ok....
*6 - yes I feel the need to comment and I want the Club to listen to feedback and to listen to people they have lost like myself. Anything wrong with that? Or you just was us all to go away because we aren't true fans like yourself and let the Club struggle on because they don't need people like us that followed them for years and then gave up because they had had enough of how much they had been let down? (Breath)... Nahhh.... you don't want to hear that, you just want people like myself +1000 to pretend all is ok and keep coming regardless. Well, we did... but bit by bit, we all dropped off and you my friend, need to open your eyes and ears and listen why - as to saying 'good riddance'. Where is that going to get you?
