New signing

Even if Cuvelier doesn't pan out, the deal is still good for both player and team; he gets to regain fitness, train in a professional capacity, and will either win a longer contract or be in better shape to join a team in the National League, whereas Morecambe get a good look at the lad before making a decision on whether to invest in him.

No need to hold my breath as there's no real losing angle here.

There's the wages the club will be paying him. If it doesn't work out, that's just money down the pan, so there is a potential losing angle.

Fair, although I can't imagine the lad is on a big fat wage considering his background. Up to him to make sure it's a good investment.

The squad is suffering from a growing injury list and with no loan deals available until the New Year JIm had to do something to bring in another body. From what I've read about the player he sounds to be just what we need as and when he is match fit. As for the wages, that really is nothing to do with us and it's Jim and the new owners to agree on whatever deal we are offering him. I can't imagine that we'd be throwing a lot his way but the guy wants to get back into the game and we have the potential to help him and ourselves in the process. I'd rather take somebody on an extended trial who wants to get back into the game by his own positive actions.

Having seen him play he is a very good player but be patient until he is properly match fit.

Good player, runs into space well to recieve the ball and good with his distribution. He was taken down with a bad tackle and the perpetrator got his just rewards with a red card.Hopefully we can get this lad on a contract, because he's too good to lose.

Reserve squad for game v Macc included Old, Thommo, Kevin, Tutt and Alex plus new signing Cuvelier who by all accounts played well.

Good to see Old, Tommo and Tutt get some valuable game time in readiness for weekend and other tough games coming up.

I would sign him on a longer deal based on this YouTube clip alone ;) ;) ;) That footage was taken when he was playing in a league above. Clearly knows where the goal is, strong, direct, pacey, skilful, imo is an excellent addition to our squad. Could have a real gem on our hands here.

It wasn't your comment that I was referring to, it was the "don't hold your breath on that one" response from a 'Bentley out' campaigner  I think Jim has a good record for turning careers around. Don't forget, he'll also be seeing the lad in training too. No point throwing him on until he's fit anyway, or it could do more harm than good.

let's wait and see then !

Hardly a surprise but have to feel for the lad who has had a bad run of injuries concluding with a horrendous tackle v Macc Res which was the result of having not played since.

If JB is prepared to change then how about not constantly getting on the players backs during a game. let them take control on the pitch and not keep having to change as per the management teams all too frequent new instructions minute after minute.

Do the talking and instructions in the changing room and let the players carry those instructions out.

It could be like having a new manager..... ;)

Redrobbo.
In response to tour previous comment.

I sat in the seats against Carlisle, which isn't that often, and Jim was constantly on at Cranston to get tighter to Devitt. He didn't and the rest is history.
I don't know what more he could have done
"Accrington Stanley" Who are they??????????????

We're lacking a proper captain on the pitch which is why Jim has to direct players himself. Trouble is that he usually gives up for the last 10/20 minutes and he can only direct the players near him, hence why it's always the same players he's shouting at. We are desperately short of a proper captain who can take control - not had such a person since Hughes in my opinion.
