Yup, that's pretty much my view. Ignore him. Report any posts that cause problems.

As I understand it, a forum owner can only actually be in trouble if they are aware of libel and don't remove it in a reasonable time frame. However, it is easier to keep it clear before the letters from Sue, Grabbit & Runn!

There's even a Darren Clifford comment hanging around that he managed to get unedited into Edgey's thread. Good.luck tonight, if Steve turns up.

Good questions and informative answers from the top table, certainly more open than years gone by.
Mr. K asked a series of questions that Rod and Jason were prepared for.
Liked the answer to the Rugby/Football, Worcester are Prem team with sponsors wanting to pay good money but.they can only get the deal if they sponsor us as well - nice one!

Enjoyed it

They were informative and respectful answers and they were generous with the time allocated 8-15 to 9-40pm after the AGM which finished after 8pm. Every opportunity was given to the audience to ask :?: Impressed with new owners and Jimbo. Disappointed with fans trust who did not appear to have anything to say.

No complaints and none of the lunatics from the asylum disrupting proceedings appeared to be there unless of course they remained silent

I did not ask any :?: but Mr Williams did.

Delighted you enjoyed it.

I can confirm that "Hairy potter" was there looking and sounding quite presentable, reading his questions like "what assurances can the board give me that the players won't get paid late again" ....and the bizarre "can all morecambe fans vote for Tyson Fury at 8pm on saturday".

My personal highlight was the question, "do the club have any plans to build a hotel in order to cash in on the boom from the Eden project!!!"

Jason replied "we cant because the Hurley flyer now stands on the land originally earmarked for a hotel"

A member of our group muttered "why not build one underwater?".....

FACT you failed to act in the PUBLIC INTEREST. You cannot get sued for publishing the truth. You could have waited for the solicitors letters, which I very much doubt you would get, then remove the information.

But instead you decided to PROTECT criminals, the forum and NOT their future victims. Deplorable in my opinion.

I hope the stalking troll Mr Sheldon and his PALS take your good advice on ignoring me but I suspect their egos wont allow it.

Why are you using a football forum to air you're potty grievances Steve, nobody cares about discussing your problems , you could try posting your personal subjects O/T and see if anyone joins in them, they won't of course , but it would be magnanimous of you, and people could discuss the subject about the club, rather than your alleged problems?

Yes you can get sued for publishing the truth. This is the case if what you publish is deemed to be invading privacy and not in the public interest. Article 8 of the European Convention of Human Rights is where the protection comes from.

Obviously, what is in the public interest and what can be deemed an invasion of privacy is somewhat up for debate, but it is simply not true to say ‘you cannot be sued for publishing the truth’. Yes you can!

Key points
Wages explanation, a late payment to the club meant a delay , as the club no longer have an overdraft.players were informed the night before their wages were due.
Training ground and community block, venture caravan park offered 250k administrators want 600k, club still hopeful of purchasing at a reasonable cost.
Structure behind main stand, plans submitted and sent back to club, larger planning fee off council required (1800) and more detail.
Paul Ince, club did talk to him, then suggested it to Jim .....decision taken that no director of football needed and money better spent elsewhere.
Rod and trust members both stated communication links had improved.
Nice lady suggested that the club start using more eco friendly packaging on food products etc. ...well received suggestion.
Jim keen to tie up our better players on longer contracts, targets for January have been identified.
P,ease feel free to add.

Just a point Knight rider. The Trust Chair and at least 3 other Trust board members did ask questions on the night. So on that statement you are wrong.

Thank you MPH for some information on what actually happened at the meeting last night. I know a lot of exiles couldn’t make it last night and were wondering what was happening. It has taken four pages of the thread to get some information! I agree with a point Freez made earlier about the Knightrider v Rest of the World argument. Can these personal discussions about O/T issues be shunted off to a siding somewhere and let the rest of us talk about MFC? Can we also ban CAPITALS during messages? It’s beginning to look like a Donald Trump tweet!

From my recollection of the forum Mr Williams asked three questions which Rod appeared to have some difficulty with but was helped by the two new owners.

1. why there was no reference to the Shrimps Trust/link on the club website and a contact Rod advised this would be addressed. No trust members surprisingly had anything to comment on this.

2. what the clubs business plan was. The new owners advised the priority was to get the club sustainable. Rod advised the club were running a much tighter ship and there would not be anymore freebies. Communication and transparency would be improved. Nothing was divulged in terms of targets or KPIs or how the club would be increasing its main source of income - attendance at home games. One of the new owners made a general statement that they would be increasing revenue streams from other sources but nothing specific. I got the impression the new owners did not fully know the product that they had bought and that they were risk taking entrepreneurs.

3. why the players got payed late and what had been put in place to prevent this from happening again.
An excellent point was made by one guy who said the silence from the board did not help the club and the press reported it and that it would have been better if the club had issued a prompt press statement. Rod agreed and advised the club had learnt. The new owners advised that no guarantee could be given that this could not happen again and that it was impossible to do that in a commercial world.

He also raised some other :?: which I never noted but before he asked his questions he commended Jimbo for his outstanding service as a player and a manager with limited resources in very difficult off the field of play circumstances. The audience applauded his statement which an emotional Jimbo thanked him for. The guy is passionate about the club and its rock in my opinion - another club legend just like Edgey was.

Another positive was the news that bookings for the Xmas parties and functions etc are very much Improved since stability now seems assured.

The players and management will be reaching out to the community more, with things like the recent food bank appeal and visits to schools.

Jim gave an insight into difficulties finding training facilities ,club are looking at other off site options.

The new owners mentioned their ownership of Worcester Rugby club and they said this was of benefit to Morecambe F.C. as the football club would receive similar deals that were being offered to the rugby club.

They said that Worcester lost around £5 million in the last financial year. :o

Also said that Worcester despite being a premier league rugby club had inferior facilities to Morecambe FC.

Due to family life getting in the way, at very short notice.....again, (pleasures of having a 10 yr old, no1 priority as always) had to miss last nights meeting.
I would like to thank all of those on here, for reporting the information and discussion of points raised. Sounds like some very interesting, and important info.

Probably most important statement made from my point of view was that made by the new owners - that they were happy with progress particularly the increasing attendance and referred to the attendance at the last home game. Not sure if their comment related to total attendance or just home fans attendance or both. I assumed it was the total as that was the figure that was referred to.

Sorry I would not know who they were as sadly no introductions were made and no welcome or approach was made by any of the Trust to new faces in JBs bar - that was my and Mr Williams's experience. There were about 30 people in JBs bar with three girls behind the bar when one would have been sufficient.
It felt like being in a Doctors/Dentist surgery waiting to be called with several guys drinking alone and just engaged with their mobile phones and small groups stood up huddled together in conversation. There appeared to be no unity and I really did not feel comfortable or welcome and felt like an intruder.
It certainly was not a happy family atmosphere but felt troubled.

The room had a table with the Trust regalia and membership forms/information on it which made it quite clear its main function was to generate more income.

Mr Williams told me afterwards he had a pleasant conversation in JBs bar with a nice bloke called Rob whom he had approached who told him he was a Trust member and advised him to go to Trust table set up in the room and speak to one of guys regarding his question about why there was no reference to the Trust on the clubs website as he was not aware there wasnt. He told me he went to the table where three guys were sat down behind it felt he was being ignored as he could not get any eye to eye contact, so picked up the attractive glossy membership forms and information and went back to his seat.

He also told me that just as he was leaving JBs bar there was a small group behind him and he heard someone in the group speak out and state well "Hairy Potter does not appear to be coming tonight"
Having read the derogatory comments and false allegations on this forum he ignored the intimidating/provocative comment from the coward. Presumably that was my Toy Story 7,405 poster friend here or one of his PALS.

What were the :?: asked by the Trust members?
