Not only can he head a ball, but he as a good left foot, also takes penalties, also on a couple of clips of him finishing, looks good.

Don't want to come across all negative but I remember watching something similar for Oswell not so long ago and thinking we had a real gem. Didn't quite work out that way and it doesn't always work when you factor in the jump from non-league to EFL.Those montages can be deceptive! The Carlisle forum don't seem to think he quite adjusted to L2 and that's being kind. One things for certain the way it stands at the moment with strikers, as soon as he's match fit he should get a fair chance to prove himself! Anyway welcome Richie, good luck and hope it clicks for you with us!

UTS.
How long will it be before JB thinks he's fit enough? He still didn't think AJ was fully fit at Christmas! He could possibly have replaced like for like with Richie just a little bit ahead of Oswell in actually having played FL before. Hope he is the answer to our goalscoring problem or we could well be facing our flexit!

The problem for Oswell was that we failed to provide him with accurate crosses into the box. Looks to me as though we will have to improve in that area for our new striker to be successful. It's some thing that we have failed to do for a number of seasons.

Hope he's a success but it depends on the service that he gets. Don't want him to be another Amond who was shoved out onto the wings. He's a goalscorer who operates in the penalty box.

Too often we've asked players to play in roles unaccustomed to them.

I think if Oswell would have been provided with more crosses I think the view of him would have been totally different, unfortunately with injuries and the formation we have played for majority of the season means that playing 4-3-2-1 hardly gets anyone down the sides to whip in crosses into the areas he needed, hence lack of goals.

from seeing the goals Ritchie has scored he has power in his shots and can turn and score in the area.

I really he hope hes one of the players that comes to reinvent himself and bags himself a few goals and proves a point to those carilise writing him off, think all us fans would love that to happen to help keep us up this season.

I thought Bennett looked great today. Jim said he couldn't start him because of how late he joined the squad, but for a player who's only had one full day with us I thought he fit into the team nicely, and I'd liked to see what he could do with a bit more familiarity and a plan for him.

Not sure he was best utilised in a rotating front 3 with Kev and Oates, and missed a sitter, but got in the right positions and set up our goal and a couple of other great chances.

Got to agree with ts and AD. Big strong lad, looks more than capable. Looking forward to seeing more of him, and I am sure he will be on the score sheet pretty soon.
Gutted with the result, as we all are.

I agree he looked better than what we have seen this season. To be fair though, a half pissed Giraffe would shine up front for us.

Thought Bennett looked a good prospect today, changed the game when he came on, win the ball, holding control, stayed strong, found passes, made good runs, took defenders on, got in good positions, had a crack and assist for Kev's goal! One positive from today!

So Barrow got £50K from Carlisle for Mr Bennett....wow..if only we had £50K to spend on a striker..oh hold on we sold Oswell to Wrexham for.... :?: :?: :?:

At an AGM of the future no doubt we'll find out.... ;)
