Also noticed Jim making a point of going out of his way to shake his hand before the game, and when he came on had the Craic with Ellison, might be worth asking if we can have him on loan. ;)

Good player, 32yrs old, but still a good passer!

Good shout!

Noticed the crack with Kevin and the hand shake with Jim. Didn't read too much into it at the time but you could be onto something there.... ;)

David Perkins is mentioned as being likely to move from Rochdale to Tranmere.

That makes 4 ex Morecambe players will be on their staff , Davies , Mullins , Williams and Perkins if he signs.

Assuming Fleming is back soon and depending on Cuvelier's fitness etc , I don't think we would have been looking to compete for his signature.

5 actually, you forgot Cole Stockton, and it’s Mullin, not Mullins :-)

Yes , I only regard players as bona fide ex Shrimps if they have been permanent signings and not loans :)

I doubt we could match the wages offered by Tranmere anyway, but would be great if we did manage to get him on board, assuming that our manager was interested.

Just hope that if there are some players coming in they are on merit and not just to make numbers up !

I'm just hoping we don't sell anyone at the last minute leaving it too late for replacement.

I would like to see another striker , possibly Chris Dagnall or maybe Andy Mangan (both if possible) but a lot will depend on Jim finding a club willing to borrow Andy Campbell from us.
We are in the last chance saloon and we need some goalscorers

Is there any evidence of a reduction of budget from the clubs transfer business?

Any new player, who comes in, if they do, needs to be a “ roll your sleeves up, and get stuck in,” type, wherever they play in the team.

Bennett has only been involved in two games, made a real difference up front, and scored already. Who knows what that might mean for our future results.

I’m sure he said he’d like a couple of bodies in for me another striker and a CM would do it!

IN - Bennett, Sutton & McKay (plus Campbell returning from loan)
OUT - Oswell, Yarney, Thompson & Piggott (plus Leitch-Smith to injury)

In essence, we've replaced Oswell & Yarney for Bennett & Sutton but lost three extra attacking options.

Unfortunately, we've lost AJ for the season and, so far, McKay just looks like defensive/midfield cover and Campbell doesn't look like coming back into the fold.

So we're potentially 2 players down on where we were at the start of the month. However, I can't see us signing anyone else. There doesn't seem to be anything coming from the club that we're close to signing anyone, and I get the feeling we're just going to rely on the return of Fleming, Mendes Gomes and Sinclair to get us over the line.

Hopefully they learned the lesson of making a pre announcement announcement earlier in the year, so they will only give us info when the deal is signed and done rather than just verbal, not holding my breath though

Jim was at Preston North End's FA Youth Cup match last week so maybe another young loan player.

Too soon to say that for sure. He can't be played during the transfer window if we're looking towards him going elsewhere, as he can only play for two teams in the one season. If he doesn't move, then he may feature in the rest of the season.

So how did that work out then?
