That pretty much sums up the game I watched. Bury showed their quality, or didn’t they

No doubt that they are a good bunch but i want to hear what we are doing to halt our decline into obscurity not how good an opposition is....or is that wishful thinking on my part

Westgate Wanderer wrote:Well Jim...4 minutes on JB basically saying they are the best side in the league with the best players (said 4 times). Old came on at a bad time and wasn't in the game before his honest error. Unfortunate with injuries. We had a go in the second half, was entertaining (!!) at 2-3 we fizzled out. Think there is a couple of claims for a house in the Bentley Bingo stakes! Although he didn't blame the pitch or weather, surprisingly, or the ref! So just 2 lines this week

chipbuns wrote:Call me cynical but Jim mentioned about going to watch Bury before Saturday and that he thought they were one of the best teams in the division. He also mentions about Danny Mayor being the best player in the league and how good Nicky Adams crossing is.
It sounds like he knew this before the weekend, so was there a plan put in place to stop them? It didn't really look like it, Mayor ran us ragged and no one got close to him. Adams did exactly the same thing against Conlan that he did at Gigg Lane earlier in the season, and to no one's surprise ripped him apart all game.
If you know how good Mayor and Adams are, then why are we not keeping tight or closing them down at every opportunity? Are we not putting plans in place to stop the best players from trying to play?
For example, Adams was constantly hugging the line and with Conlan coming inside, all it needed was a quick change of direction and he would have acres to either get a cross in or have a run at our full back. It looked far too easy for them.
Isn't it basic analysis checking strengths and weaknesses of players and teams you're coming up against?

What was your opinion of the game and where does it differ from Jim’s assessment?

we stood like statues while they walked in the first goal, a suicidal back pass gave them the second, the third was a quality goal, we got lucky with the rebound after another shocking penalty, then a good header from Old to make up for his error.
we went to sleep when they had a throw in leaving one of their players stood on the bye line with no one within 20 yards of him, and who couldn't be offside,
but why do we wait until were three down before we attack the opposition at home
redrobo wrote:Maybe if he was prepared to change playing styles etc would be a welcome start...

sandgrown wrote:Keith, his negativity comes from being to obsessed with what the opposition can do, instead of what we can do !

I don’t care what team Jim starts with.
I don’t care what team Jim ends with.
I don’t care how we play.
I don’t care what Jim has to say in the post match interveiw, as long as it includes reference to The Shrimps getting 3 pts.
A win at this time would be massive to the team, and equally the supporters.

but will he go for a win, or his usual clean sheet ?
