Totally agree. His distribution is excellent and is the ideal replacement for Baz as his injury may prove to be too much to recover from playing such an important part in his role in the team. I'd welcome Mark as our No1....
Blameless when Old decided to do the usual trick and pass back to the keeper! I think it comes automatically from the players if in doubt pass back, we do it so many times in games. I put it solely down to our tactical plays.Vinny wrote:I think Halstead has done really well since getting his opportunity. He frequently makes great saves, and usually has good distribution, but I do think he could be more vocal, ensuring defenders know they have time and space to control, or to clear, and help avoid defensive howlers like we saw today.

He's going to be very busy on his return but what a boost
Starting with a crucial must win game in hand at Vale on Saturday

Where's the guarantee he'll play? After all, as has been said, Mark has done very little wrong, and in my opinion ought to feel somewhat affronted if he is dropped in favour of Baz just because he's fit again.

A big boost to the team IMHO.

Totally respect your opinion (as I hope you do mine). We'll see what decision Jim makes. I'd also say that 'back to full training' doesn't necessarily mean match fit, although obviously for a keeper the fitness requirements are different than for an outfield player.

I wasn't suggesting he'd go straight back into the side at the cost of his stand in but what a nice problem for the manager to have in being able to make that call, just hope he has more crocks back in time for the run in to see the club safe.
