Looks like our away games are the hope of staying up. Port vale, Yeovil, Notts County, Macclesfield & Cambridge all away

Got every chance if we set up 4-4-2 and peg them back instead.

Some massive 'six pointers' there. Hopefully some of the walking wounded will be back in the fold soon to give us a boost. Great result today thanks mainly to Mark Halstead and a worldy performance.

Well done to all. Sounds like we rode our luck and MH kept us in it, but great to finish the game with a new goal-scoring front-line combination and hold-out for 3 BIG POINTS! :D Now to focus on Tuesday nights match - if Dave Artell can get a result there, hopefully Jim can learn something from our win and their result. 4-4-2 PLEASE!

Against the odds and yet again another brilliant away performance, on to Tuesday and a game that's make or break now for different reasons.
Safe journey over and I'll look out for you all in the chaddy from where I stood and watched my first home game back in 1974

The game in hand could count for nothing after Tuesday night :( We need something out of that game and it's going to be far from easy. However, well done to all for snatching all 3 points at Vale :D

Anything at Oldham would be a bonus.

Our season will be defined by the games against Macclesfield , Yeovil , Cheltenham , Cambridge , Notts County , Crawley , Swindon , Grimsby etc

I actually thought we played slightly better in the first half than we have in previous weeks and it seemed to be the plan that we wanted to go into half time without conceding. In reality, we stood off too much (again!) and we only have Halstead to thank for that. Second half it was crying out for a change of formation. Fair play to Jim, he made the right change and it worked. It also brought the two wingers into the game and also gave Bennett something to work with (not that I thought it was Mendes Gomes' fault, I think it was just the formation).

I know we're limited in the middle of the park, but I just feel Kenyon & Cranston doesn't work well with the two wingers. I don't think either had a particularly good day and we just seemed to be lacking in that area.

What I was most impressed with was our game management after we scored. We didn't cheat, but we played down the clock well and, bar one error, didn't give any silly freekicks away in dangerous areas. Clearly something we've been working on and it really made a difference.

Hopefully we'll start the game tomorrow night with 4-4-2. I 'd like to see Collins start as he looked a real threat, and then perhaps Mendes Gomes in for Cranston/Kenyon.

Just hope that if he was a real threat that JB and Co don't knock it out of him as we've seen too many players start like a breath of fresh air and gradually become a shadow of their former self.

Prefer to see Cranston in preference of Kenyon with a role for Gomes who I feel will be money in the bank in the future.

So how did that work out then?

They played up front together in a 4-4-2 vs Northampton. Oates one wing, Ellison the other. Bennett looked good. Oliver didn't really do much. Oates tried hard but it mainly didn't come off. Ellison was his usual self.
