Bentley Bingo

Too true, as you can see, it tickled me then, and now.

Everyone’s opinion is valid, however posting negatively during the game gambling that the outcome will (rightly as it occurred) suit your consistently gloomy outlook after being banned for persistently becoming personal, is a little bit silly.

As for the persistent doom mongers hating anyone posting little rays of sunshine, that will not happen if we ever score a goal and win. IF?
As these people are suddenly silent and have nothing positive to say on the whole!

Onwards and hopefully upwards, Jason Oswell is the new messiah???

Not true in my opinion, but that’s your opinion.
There are plenty on here who disagree and post like adults, not hiding behind pseudonyms and being respectful.
However as to what happened to Blackpool Shrimp, no idea.
Perhaps he has set up his own message board! :D

Don't count me in that clan because like yourself, if something needs saying it'll be said regardless of sentiment but it's jolly decent of the said 'Clan' to offer us the chance to say it in the first place on their forum :D

As you've been a member here for eleven years without being banned, obviously by your own logic, that means you agree with the politburo that run ShrimpsVoices? Good to know you are on-board!

To be very clear, so you are under no misapprehension, when your ban eventually comes, it won't be due to your points of view being different to the gods of ShrimpsVoices, but your inability to follow a very simple, often explained rule. Thanks.

He will inevitably leave, however, if it’s on his terms and he’s turned us round, I’d wish him well. If he had been backed with a higher budget and decent training facilities, and he didn’t do well, I’d wish him well but the time would be right.
If we get relegated, he may leave, he may get sacked, again the time for change would be right in my opinion.
If he plays two up front tonight and we lose, he has done as everyone wants but still it didn’t work, there is the conundrum?
Onwards to Boundary Park and the Ginger Prince!

Name somebody out there who:

(a) Is available.
(b) Affordable.
(c) Would want to come.

I hope this club never goes down because mark my words it would be near impossible to come back up, and only then it would be appreciated what a good job he has done.

I for one have never taken it for granted that Morecambe is a now established football league club. I will never forget my first game, at home against Kettering 20+ years ago. The club is in a different world now.

OK playing devil's advocate, I reckon that out of work managers or ex players or even current ones coming to an end of their playing days would jump at the chance to manage our club.

Why? Simply because we have a record of giving our managers time to improve or stamp their own style on the field.

Who would be interested? Two springs to mind straight away. Gary Bowyer and our very own Kevin...

I doubt that wages would be a stumbling block because I reckon that JB is on a respectable wage for EFL2 and assuming that was replicated with the new manager would be no problem

Training facilities will always be a problem but GB at Blackpool had even worse than us to train on and Kevin already knows what to expect.

Players budget like Training facilities remains a problem but GB has a record of developing younger pros and Kevin's contacts within the game would have players knocking at his door ....in my opinion.

Obviously it will depend on where we are at the end of this season but for me I can't see getting a new manager would be a major problem, whether that would be a success is another matter. :?: :?: :?:

That's it In a nutshell Neil. I totally understand the frustrations with where we are as a team and how we're performing, or not, on the field. I share many of the same frustrations. I also understand the problems that face Jim, but I do think he's his own worst enemy at times, with the persistent negative attitude, both in interviews and in the style of play & tactics. I've stopped short of calling for him to go so far, but trust me, I'm close. Whilst I don't expect him to turn around and say 'the fans are right, I've been doing it wrong for the past 'x' seasons', I do wish he would at least take on board some of the criticism and do something different; he may do so already, but I have to say I've seen little or no evidence of it.

Exactly!

Like Schrödinger's Christie the Cat, it is possible to be both critical & supportive of Jim at the same time!

There are times when I find his style of play frustrating.
There are times when I believe if we were more attacking we'd be better defensively.
There are times when I think Jim worries too much about the opposition rather than let them worry about us.
There are times when I get frustrated by his stubborn perseverance with one up front, isolated from everyone else in the team!

BUT

I also recognise the amazing work Jim's done in simply keeping us in the Football League at all.
I can't imagine many managers who'd have been willing to put up with the crap he's put up with over the last few seasons.
I don't think many people could have kept the perennial favourites for relegation, in the Football League.
I think that it is his stubbornness and strength of character that has kept a group of players giving their all, against the odds and still turning out a team that is competitive.

I'd love to see Jim given a level playing field (perhaps we could train on it!) and then see what he can do? If, with a half decent budget he still manages third or fourth from bottom in the Football League, I may concede that the time has come to say goodbye. But until that happens, I really struggle to understand how supporters can genuinely believe that anyone else can pick up the mess and do better with it.

But if he plays one up front and we don't score, I'll still be frustrated as hell! 8-)

PS. I also don't think we'd have a problem finding another manager if/when the time comes. We could probably promote from within (Drummie) or take a chance on someone new to management. Whether they'd be any good though, especially with the problems we face financially etc, that's the real question.

Big Time!!

A lot of damage as been done between fans falling out on matchday and online regarding having a Club Legand as Manager who you could argue as become bigger than the club.
