For personal reasons which have been mentioned previously in my case.

I have had a season ticket from the 1985/86 season and even had one LAST season but was unfortunately unable to use it once (but I'd still bought one), and I think Jim Bentley is doing an amazing job with the tools he has at hand. (And, despite the "tools" he has sat behind him "directing operations" from C Block...)

There's an old saying which goes something like you never appreciate something entirely until it is gone, and this is true in this case. In my humble opinion.

No need to call MFC fans "tools" is there?

Maybe some chants/songs etc in LOUD SUPPORT of the man and all that he has done for the club. There must be people out there who could organise something like this.

Here’s my issue; the majority of supporters already DO give Jim (in particular) and his team a good vocal backing and no doubt this will continue. In fact two weekends ago I was away on a stag do and one of the other attendees (a friend of the stag) who had been to Yeovil away at the turn of the year joking commented to others in attendance that as a fan base Morecambe love the manager more than the players, have more chants about the manager than the team, and sang Jim Bentleys barmy army for 20 minutes non-stop (which we did) to the point that it was irritating. So what more can we do, if that’s a complete outsiders interpretation of our support of the manager?

Good on Jim for getting this off his chest (I think it’s been bothering him for a while, he tried to bring it up as part of questioning for his radio interview) if he feels it’ll do some good - but the sound bite emanating from that interview, subsequent headlines and the discussions here and elsewhere are that Morecambe fans in general don’t appreciate or show him respect to King Jim - which in my opinion is not the case at all. I know in the interview Jim states that he’s referring to a minority, but that’s the part that’s not being captured and is drastically understated.

Football is a game if opinions; you’re never going to please everybody. Ultimately the only opinion that matters from a footballing point of view at any club is that of the manager. As a manager, Jim’s achievements in continually keeping us up and getting the very best out of the players that come here (most of them because of Jim) speaks volumes. It’s a shame in my opinion that that Jim has given a handful of supporters who shout instructions/comment from behind the dugout, the attention that they crave.

Well Jim and his '30 managers' are going to face each other again on Easter Monday and obviously the best response for Jim would be a good performance and a win for Morecambe. Look forward to seeing our goalscorers do the Raheem Sterling 'ears' celebration for the benefit of Jim's Greek Chorus in C Prem :D

Im a season ticket holder and been all over the ground, and I now sit in C-Prem, didn't go last Saturday but haven't heard anyone around me be disrespectful towards Jim, only the odd moan with the substitutions, but doesn't everyone have their own opinions or ideas of who should replace who and who should come off?

Also i think it's far worse in the Berlin Wall stand, and terracing in general, and once when i had a season ticket in E- Section(family section) seen two groups nearly fighting over Jim Bentley, with others sat around them telling them to calm down and pointing out there's Children about.

Can somebody clarify what was said to Jim? I was under the impression it was just discontent at the performance but one post alluded to abuse and another using strong offensive language aimed personally at Jim.

I’ve sat in C Prem for certain cup games and I’ve witnessed Jim having an argument with someone sat near me and the criticism is far worse than the Berlin Wall. To be fair most of the shouting and criticism in C Prem comes from 2 certain individuals who are well know.....

I sometimes stand in the Berlin Wall stand and most of them are miserable who don't support the team. Spoils my game and puts me off standing there.

When I am in the Ace stand, there is certain places not to stand like a man and I think his dad, who have been coming for years. They are so negative and moany, never clap or support the team and even laughed when we concede. It spoils it for me hearing them constantly. They are not supporters and don't know why they come.

Was talking to a Fylde FC fan this morning (not so much a fan as a Dad Taxi as his son is in their development squad) and he said his lad gets him a free seat ticket every so often. He often doesn't use it though, preferring to stand on the terrace as the people in the seats just moan all the time.

Not just us then!

:o :o Me and my lad are seated in E section. Sometimes we need to be restrained for over celebrating, and that’s just for winning a corner.

So in summary, you are no longer able to be disgruntled during a game as well as after the game on here?

Fair enough when it's in proportion but when it goes beyond that its easier to be upfront and say what needs to be said face to face, mano et mano when things overtake you to such a level, always worked for me and I'm pretty sure Jim would prefer that himself.

I don't see any issues with fans having a pop at players or management. It happens at every single football club in world football, managers are paid well enough to handle a little bit of criticism. If Jim can't handle a handful of people giving him a little bit of stick, then how would he cope at a bigger club with more demanding fans?

You are always going to get this, it's nothing new! Look at the grief Sammy Mac endured in his final season.
Certain people just feel the need to protect Jim. He can do no wrong in some eyes. Non of the grief Jim gets is a personal attack. Anyone paying their money into the club is entitled to vent their frustrations.

Niborian Shrimp is also in Block D, as am I. The 'numpty' NS refers to I have seen grin when we conceded once, and sit there with a glum expression when we scored (possibly same match).

This is fine when warranted but there are a small minority of fans scattered around the ground who turn up with just one aim and that is to give Jim and certain players stick regardless of how the team is performing. That can't be right can it?

Only Jim is fully aware of what type of “grief” he gets.
“Vent their frustrations,” fair enough, as many fans do, to varying degrees, but then don’t be whine arseing about it, when the man finally calls a spade a spade.

I'll put another slant on things.................If you were in charge instead of Jim Bentley and kept Morecambe in the football league on the same budget and with the same constraints
I'd be shouting your name from the rooftops instead of his.

He has done a brilliant job keeping us up, not doubting that at all, I think it's more of the style of play he deploys, and his constant use of his mates e.g Ellison who is just a passenger these days. I also don't understand why Halstead was dropped as soon as Baz got back to full fitness. He has probably been one of the more consistent performers this season and has kept us in numerous games, but Jim has his favourites, and that's just the way it is.

So true...

For me Kevin is now no longer contributing to the team ethic and should be used as an impact sub at best..

And as for Baz replacing Mark.....poor, very poor and wouldn't surprise me if Mark walks come the end of the season, and who could blame him....
