Amazing performance, utterly dominated Cheltenham all game and barely gave them a sniff. Credit to Jim, he'd obviously highlighted in behind their left wing back as somewhere we could hurt them and we did, particularly in the first half, with our excellent right side of Mills and Mingoia.

Shame about the missed chances in the first half but we kept our heads and carried on in the second and fully deserved the margin of our victory. Mingoia was superb and a fully justified MOTM, and Oliver was a deserved runner up to that in the Fan's Club Facebook poll. He was immense. Collins caused them all kind of trouble too, they seemed to work together excellently.

Fleming and Wildig provided an excellent engine in midfield - creative, hard working, tackled well and some lovely passes. We look superior in defence as well as attack with those two and no Kenyon - they tackle far more skilfully and are able to retain to the ball once they win/collect it. Lavelle and Old imperious at the back when called upon.

Great performance in front of the bumper crowd! :D

Brilliant day, fantastic 2nd half and well done to the Shrimps Trust and the Club for putting it all together.
Great to see the home ends busy and the awesome support, hope we can build on this.
3 or 4 contenders for man of the match which makes a happy change
Enjoy yourself.... It is later than you think

One of the most enjoyable days I have had at the Globe since we beat Crawley 6-0.

The weather and large crowd as well as a happy atmosphere made it memorable.

Everyone played well but I thought Fleming was outstanding as was sponsors MOTM Mingoia.

I hope we have news on players signing new contracts soon , although did Bennett being "rested" suggest Jim knows he won't be here next season.

It was a bit strange that he wasn't even on the bench and very late in the season to be resting players so you may be right.

Thought Fleming was outstanding.... and again wildig adds that bit of class, always passes it simple.
Hopefully next season we can make a push towards the play offs.

If we play with the same intent as yesterday every week, then I believe we have the chance. The problem is that, due to Jim's defensive mentality, he won't allow the team to play that way every week, which in my opinion (and what do I know) stymies our chances of finishing top half.

I would agree with that. The players played with total freedom in the 2nd half and we looked a different side.

Great day for the club. I bought tickets for two friends who came away really impressed and will be at the Newport game. Well done to the trust and everyone involved within it.

Message to JB and Co, let the players express themselves as they did yesterday and who knows what could happen long term.

Remember if we are successful on the pitch it will enhance your opportunity to move on to bigger and better things...which fans will understand.

Although if the bit about an optional one year contract extension is true, maybe Carlisle are going to trigger that (then try to get money for him if he's not in their plans).

Blimey! Unbeaten in five at home, with four wins and a draw and some still having a pop at Jim. Credit where credit is due surely? That is a great run.

Players tend to go where they want to go rather than go where their registered club wants to transfer them to. If Carlisle did trigger the extra year clause they would be committed to paying his wages for another year with no guarantee that he would sign for a club that offered a fee. They would probably have to loan him out again if he is not in Pressley's plans.

Excellent result MFC. Everything seemed to click. Best home form since we moved from Christie.

Have we ever scored four goals in front of the home end at the Globe?

My Dad hadn't been in 16 years but said he's coming to the next home match ;)

Chesterfield in the 4-3 , maybe Yeovil also in a 4-3. This could have been 7 or 8.

The Cheltenham manager said "Morecambe were excellent".

4 of the 6 goals we scored against Crawley were in front of the home end too.

Totally agree it's a great run Mark, and really happy to be safe again. I'm not one of the Jim Out brigade, but was expressing concerns I've frequently expressed before, as have several others. I would be very happy if we kept playing like yesterday, as we did for a while early on in the season. Also I missed the first two games in the run, so perhaps not as buoyed up by recent performances as could be. Jim got the tactics spot on yesterday, and full credit to him for that; long may it continue.

Well said.

Jim has finally got a decent squad of fit players and many of them hitting their peak fitness and form after long spells out. Where would be for example if Flemmo and Wildig had been fit all season or Collins, Bennett and Mingoia been at the club all season?

The job now is to support Jim and back him to secure contracts for these players so we can see them, hopefully fit, over a full season.

"Carlisle United
Bennett signed for Cumbrian side Carlisle United on 25 July 2017 for an undisclosed fee on a two-year contract (with the option of a further year).[3] Through his period at the blues he was deployed in collecting the cones and bibs after training. During several key moments he missed the locker containing the cones and ended up in the cleaning cupboard. After an uninspiring start he was moved to tea making.

Meow!!!

Perhaps the twelve month extension is another reason fro Jim dropping him from the squad? If Carlisle thought we were desperate to sign Bennett, they may have triggered the extension, then wanted money for him? Now, they may think it is a gamble to do that, as they may end up with an unhappy player for a season, who they are desperate to off-load but have to pay wages for? The fact that he was there for the game, stood with fans, has to be a positive sign?
