Yup, I think they called it spot on, the defender's trailing arm played Cranston on-side.

Another great result for the lads, the run continues.COYS.

A big well done to the 109 who were able to make the game.

The arm actually doesn't count! I think it was onside though still

Looking towards the retained list, the area that does need serious work on is defence which is the 3rd worse in the league with only Macc on 73 and Notts County on 80 whilst we have 68 goals against. If we are ever to challenge for promotion we need to get the goals against column down into the 40's.

This is not a dig Neil but it feels like you say this year. From what I´ve seen Conlan, Lavelle, Old and Mills is a good back 4. I tend to think maybe the defensive problem is further up the pitch.

Anyway, tuning in from Northern Peru with a pleasant 22 degrees. Hope some of the lads given a chance to push us on to victory.

68 goals against speaks for itself. I wonder how many have come as a result of a shot from outside the box. As for a defensive midfielder totally agree but even with Kenyon in from time to time we still allow to much room for an opponents strikers and midfielders to score from outside the box. We defend too deep for my liking which encourages shots from a distance. Anyhow no arguement from me, a quality experienced defensive midfielder is a must.

We also concede the second most shots on target. Problem definitely stems from midfield, but I also think defensively we tend to drop off and let players take shots too easily. We often end up in panicky situations, rarely is there a game where we keep the opponent well outside the box.

Agree that preventing goals from being scored is important, but not so much so,if you are aren’t getting beaten?
Bury looking like auto promotion, have conceded 54, worst figure in the top 8.

That still is pretty much irrelevant as to whether Cranston was offside. Rewind it a few frames to where the ball left Collins boot and at that point Cranston who had forward momentum would have probably been level or just behind the static defender. Just goes to show what tight margins the officials are working with and how hard these split second decisions can be.

Doesn't it? I thought it was any part of the body?
But yes, it was incredibly tight and I watched it repeatedly.

Just onside it seems

I knew it Freez, Glen and Posh!! It's one of the ones in real time when the defender is stationary and the attacker is running that it can look a mile offside. Great call by the liner.

We weren’t quite in line with it but I remember at the time watching Jordan’s run and it felt like watching in slow motion begging Aaron to release Iran’s him just seeming to hold on just that fraction of a second too long. However, from leaving his boot to even casting your eyes up he could have travelled three feet.

So basically I agree, a brilliantly timed pass and a great piece of officiating by the linesman.

What was more surreal was three Morecambe fans, sitting in an old stand in Cambridge huddled over a phone watching a video of the incident shortly after sent to you by a guy in northern Peru.

Cheers Tom
