19 draws

Last season we had 19 draws and we all know what happened. Sunderland have 19 draws already this season, and currently are in 4th... Just thought it was interesting to see!

What is interesting about this meaningless stat taken completely out of context. How can you compare a Sunderland team who have won 22 and lost 3 with Morecambe who won 9 and lost 18. Too many rose coloured specks being worn.

I wasn't comparing them, it's just interesting because you rarely see a team draw nearly half their matches, even less likely to see teams with two completely opposite fortunes. Not sure why you thought I was suggesting that was a positive thing.

TS what you have said is a direct comparison. You quote the common factor of 19 draws and draw attention to the vastly different outcome. Where your point falls down is not the number of draws but the outcome of the other matches.
If a team draws 19 and wins the rest that’s promotion form as it’s 100 points, but if the draw 19 and loose the rest Its relegation form of 19 points. As I say Sunderland have won 22 and lost 3 Morecambe won 9 and lost 18 a difference of 39 points which would have put Morecambe in a similar if not better position in the league. I am all for comparisons but not meaningless ones that seem to be popping up recently trying to get a quantum of solace from on the whole is a pretty mediocre season once again.

You're completely misunderstanding my point. My point isn't to celebrate that we've drawn the same number of games, my entire point is that we did drastically different in the other games, but it's still a highly unusual quirk.

Again, not sure why you think I'm trying to claim this as a positive, it's purely an interesting and unusual coincidence to me.

Looks to me like he was just pointing out an interesting stat. Not sure where the supposed positive spin is. I can see some pretty needless negative spin in your reply though. I'd assume because your constant 'Bentley Oot' campaign isn't really gaining any support.

And it's lose. Why can't anyone online spell the word lose?

Shrimperteer I have never thought my feelings that JB has taken the team as far as he can as a campaign and did have a chuckle at your comment. To make things clear for you as you seem to have difficulty. For me I watch football to be entertained. That’s why I also go to the theatre or the cinema or other forms of recreation to be entertained. My opinion, is that JB’s tactics and style of play constantly over the past number of years does not provide entertainment as consistently as I would like. I can live with draws and defeats if the game is entertaining and some of the best games I have been to have ended in defeat but enjoyed the game tremendously. Now if JB changes his tactics and playing style to entertain on a more consistent basis then I am happy for him to stay but history does repeat itself.

Your second point the stat that TS and you seem to think is interesting is MEANINGLESS as it’s taken out of context and not interesting in any shape or form, no more than the fact Everton and Leyton Orient in their respective games yesterday drew nil nil. Oh and look Everton are a premier league team and Orient in the national league. Interesting ?

Thanks for pointing out my spelling mishap. I rely on auto spell too much. My English teacher did say I should read before I submit. Are you an English teacher as I have never met an interesting one.
One last point if you do find TS point interesting that’s your choice but my choice is to embrace culture enjoy nature, have conversations with people to learn about them. This is called getting a life. You should consider it.

 hoots mon! It is the sort of statistic that football supporters find mildly interesting. I'm not sure I understand your gripe with these posters. If you think it's meaningless then ignore it. I've corrected your last paragraph on behalf of all your alienated and uninteresting English teachers.

Blimey, it’s only a quirky little stat, might not tickle everybody but I enjoyed it!

Take it you’re not a fan of Expected Goals etc then Doonhamer?

You assume a lot don't you? Your middle paragraph there suggests that if you had a brain cell it would die of loneliness. Makes zero sense at all.
Calm down eh, can't be good for your health getting your knickers in such a twist.
