Ok its fess up time, todays commentary has been scuppered by the demands of the national media. We have Five Live, Sly SPorts, BBC Wales, BBC Welsh Language and Talk sport all wanting to broadcast live today, so live commentary will come through Quinny and Mark Atkins through Lancs.
So no texts or comments today I’m afraid as we don’t have enough lines for IFollow to Broadcast as we are accommodating the precious media darlings. However, its nobody fault, but I hope we dick the welsh bastards because of it.
So thank you to all that have listened, joined in and texted or commented through the season, it’s great to have you on board, we will be back in August with the usual interactive service.
Thanks again, Freez, Glen, Swidz, Matty and Posh, your IFollow team.

Ah, what a shame! It makes my morning. I´ve only managed to tune in the second half of the season (due to work commitments on Saturdays) however I´ve really enjoyed it.

Great job fellas. You guys are very professional, knowledgeable and add in a good bit of banter too. I guess it shows you how far we´ve come that the media is covering a game we are involved as much as they are.

As for team selection today, wonder what the logic is of picking Oliver over Bennett? Low-balling our need for Bennett to Carlisle?

As for Jim, fantastic work yet again. He´s a miracle worker with the things he comes up against and keeps plugging away. I think everyone acknowledges how we want to see football played (on the front foot) and we´ve seen when Jim has got in a few players he wants how he can play the way we want to see.

Hopefully we can finish strong today with a Kev winner from 1 yard in injury time.

Great finish by Collins. Newport probably been on top but we´ve defended well at the back. Conlan has been brilliant and Old has got his head on most things in the middle. I´m not sure its working for either of the wide players. I'd like to see either Mandy or Mingoia on second half and of course Lord Voldermort.

Ref is dreadful! We should have had a clear penalty (for which we would have taken a corner, preferably!!) for an assault on Oliver! Then Oliver made a great tackle, but got a free kick against him and booked as well!

I’m in the box next to the Newport directors and even they agreed that it should have been a penalty.

Well taken goal from Collins, still had a lot to do.

What an entertaining second half! Really end to end stuff. Shame we couldn´t hold on but a strong performance all the same.

Fair play to Oliver. He had a decent impact in the second half and linked up well. I´d always have Mandeville on the pitch as he seems to make us tick and always gets things happening.

Hopefully we can keep the nucleus of this team together as we have a platform to push on next year further up the table.

Well done lads. Good result against a good team.

After another difficult season with many problems along the way a strong finish has kept us out of the final relegation battle. Well done Jim and all the players and 'back room' staff. :D

Funnily enough, I thought he was poor today and looked knackered after 15 minutes! I’m not convinced that he’s consistent enough. Jim’s got some interesting decisions to make, it will be interesting to see if he believes he can keep Mandeville focused on the football enough to warrant a contract?

We're actually good at football, which is incredibly pleasing after the shambles of last season!

Probably had the better of the game against a playoff pushing side. We looked the better side I thought, they just seemed to want to lump it long it Jamil Matt. In fairness, though, you could tell they were tense and that probably did hamper them somewhat on the footballing side.

Thought Oliver was excellent again, as was Fleming in midfield. He's been superb since coming back. Maintains possession very well, good passer and times his tackles really well. Can't fault much of the back line today, Conlan has really come on in leaps and bounds over the past couple of seasons.

Thought Mandeville looked good when he came on. As has already been said, did a great job of knitting possession together and really just helped the cogs turn when we moved forward. Lots of lovely one-twos and movements etc. Hope we can nab him from Donny!

Yes Mandeville is inconsistent but he's also proved he's a game changer and was certainly better than Mendez Gomez today who was subbed, and from what Ive seen if him this season is out of his depth in L2.

Yes, but Mendez-Gomez is a lot younger & still learning. According to people who’ve seen him in the reserves said he is head & shoulders above most reserve team players. He just needs some time to make the jump from reserves to first team. Whether he can or not remains to be seen but I think he needs more time.

A game of opinions hey. I'd have him in a heartbeat. We just are more prone to probing teams, keeping it on the deck when he's on the pitch and he's really good at picking up on pockets of space. He's arguably our best technical player.

I’m still trying to find a blade of grass that Fleming didn’t cover..... superb today
Mandeville will one day dig a hole the amount of turns he does....

Ref was a shocker as was the Lino......

Agreed Flemmo was a class above anyone else on the pitch today. Showed what we've been missing most of the season. Hope he's here next season.

I thought the referee again today was absolutely dreadful. The latest in a long line of abysmal referees this season. We can't go on producing such poor officials. The Newport number 11 fouled almost every challenge he put in but the referee ignored this. My real anxiety is they are not simply poor but very biased in their decision making. Biased in favour of the big boys while we generally get a raw deal.

Thought roles were reversed today, and for most of the game we looked like the side pushing for the play offs. Their keeper was excellent, and they owe it to him for keeping them in it. We still should have buried them though.
Fleming deserved his MOTM, excellent.
Really hope we can hold onto most of the current squad, and who knows what could happen next season.
Aaron Collins signed my lads shirt, and he said to him that it would count as a long term contract. His reaction, and body language looked pretty positive.( or maybe my wishful thinking :D :?: )

Fleming was superb again. If he hadn't been out injured for so long, he'd have been a good challenger for PotS. But, I thought Old has been very under rated, yet solid. Has he won a MotM at all this season? If he has, not many, yet he's been so consistent. The defence is looking really good, I hope we can keep them all together for next season.

Collins will definitely get offers, as will Mills and probably others who we'd like to keep. They'll get offered an increase in wages, way beyond what we can offer. Hopefully, they will be able to look beyond next season though, to their long term development. If they can see how Jim Bentley has resurrected their careers, they may see their chances of progressing in their career are improved by staying with us for a bit longer. Longer term plan for a short term investment? Also, Jim will be able to 'sell' the fact that our form since January has been play-off standard. If he can keep most of this squad together, we could start positively and be challenging at the other end of the table, putting Collins & co even more in the shop window. Go to a bigger League Two club for more money (Carlisle) or stay with us, improve, then go to a Championship side?

Certainly, anyone at the awards night will have seen a group of players who are clearly very close knit, so perhaps they will want to remain together... ...let's hope so!

An entertaining game and a good end to the season.

Fleming was great with the ball and without. If he could play like that next season and not get injured, he’ll be fantastic in midfield.

Great performance for 70ish minutes until the attack switch was turned off. Collins is far too good for League 2. He has to be on the radar of some L1 clubs or a big spender potentially on their way up.
