According to Alan Nixon's twitter Morton in Scotland are signing Cole Stockton and are close to signing Andy Fleming.

If this turns out true then a real blow. Andy Tutte could replace him but will he be fit ?

I really hope this isn't true. If not for his injury Flemmo could easily have been our player of the season.

Just had a check of Nixon's Twitter and he's just corrected himself to say he actually meant 'Morecambe' not 'Morton' after realising he had misheard a message. To clarify for people who haven't seen the Tweets -

First Tweet last night: "MORTON. Signing Cole Stockton. And also close to deal for midfielder Andy Fleming from Morecambe."

Correction this morning: "Ffs. Never listen to late night messages. It’s MORECAMBE who are after Cole Stockton. Not MORTON."

So apparently we're back after Cole Stockton? And from that, you'd assume that he also meant we're close to agreeing a new contract with Fleming?

Morecambe's official twitter says we will be announcing another signing around lunchtime today :D :D

They are looking for a pen !

A definite improvement in Morecambe FC's release of club information/news of late.

This is bloody brilliant both from a signing players perspective and from a communication with fans view.

Such a dramatic and positive change.

No problems guys, he's actually just confirmed it definitely is Fleming to Morecambe, not Morton!

2010 we moved to the Globe, so must be 9 years this August.

Well we always seem to be crying out for a leader on the field! However, he is 35 and past his best.

Nah way too slow, he got sent off twice against us fouling Jack Redshaw(in both games) think he was playing for Luton then?

According to his Twitter, he picked up an injury pre season last July and on 23rd April he finally got a date for the operation

Yes, it was Luton Andy.

Rumoured to be off to AFC Fylde so I'm told about S McN.

I'm surprised the club didn't pay for him to go private. Presumably he's surplus to requirements if they're happy for him to be sat out this long, waiting for the NHS?

Could it be that they are not as switched on as they would like to think.

I would have thought that a club with aspirations to be bigger would have had private medical policies to cover any serious injuries that required specific medi care.

Our club has never hesitated to get players treated by using private treatment as required.

Feel sorry for Jack who has had injury problems even with us.But to spend a full season out waiting for treatment is ridiculous.

Maybe the grass isn't that greener over there after all.... :?: :?: :?:

Was thinking the same!

I get free private health care with work with Aviva, and had a Medial Patellofemoral Ligament (MPFL) Reconstruction, basically stabilising my knee cap, up at Lancaster BMI, and read the paper work it was just over £1000 for the operation, now surly thats worth paying in a sort career in Footballer?
