I'm surprised the club didn't pay for him to go private. Presumably he's surplus to requirements if they're happy for him to be sat out this long, waiting for the NHS?

Was thinking the same!

I get free private health care at work with Aviva, and last year had a Medial Patellofemoral Ligament (MPFL) Reconstruction, basically stabilising my knee cap up at Lancaster BMI, and read the paper work it was just over £1000 for the 3hr operation, now surly that sort of money is worth paying in a short career as a Footballer?

Could it be that they are not as switched on as they would like to think.

I would have thought that a club with aspirations to be bigger would have had private medical policies to cover any serious injuries that required specific medi care.

Our club has never hesitated to get players treated by using private treatment as required.

Feel sorry for Jack who has had injury problems even with us.But to spend a full season out waiting for treatment is ridiculous.

Maybe the grass isn't that greener over there after all.... :?: :?: :?:

Released by Salford

Then there’s Jack Redshaw. He’s got such a good stat record. He managed 17 goals out of 36 matches for Salford and he’s got football orientated family too, his brother is Mark Redshaw and his father is Ray Redshaw, all three being strikers in their career.

If you leave that information as it is, you’d be thinking, why hasn’t anyone put an offer in? But the issue the 28-year-old will have to come to terms with is that he was out of action in Salford’s last season due to an injury in preseason. Fans were gutted but now that he’s been released, he may find it hard to find an alternative club. He has played for Rochdale, Blackpool and Morecambe previous to Salford so a club are sure to see the positives in the striker.

I wonder if Jim would want to let him train with us, assuming the operation was a success, to see if he can regain fitness? I know other players who weren't ours trained with us in the past. Still only 28 years old, if he can over come previous injury problems and get fully fit... Or was his injury career ending (or resulted in an insurance payout?)

So how did that work out then?

Along with Andy Bond. York are paying more money in Conf North than League sides like ourselves.
