Nah....Monday night with drunks and other substance using individuals PLUS a lot of young children.

Saw life as it is.....a real eye opener :o

68 people in for attention but staff doing a superb service. Approx 17 being treated as any one time.

His form when he came back from injury was superb and vital in our 25 points from 14 games run.

I am wondering what the season holds for Andrew Tutte :?:

[quote="Ntini"]If we could re-sign the following I would be extremely happy:
- Halstead
- Roche
- Mills
- Mingoia
- Collins
- Bennett/Stockton

Obviously we might not be able to get them all for various reasons, but if we could sign those or equivalent players then we have a very solid and exciting team for next season.[/

Another one for your wish list signs today.

We collected 25 points from our final 15 games - a great return that saved the clubs bacon. IMO, it is no coincidence that this run coincided with the arrival of Aaron Collins (I remember seeing him being shown around the ground before the Bury FC game wondering who he was) and Richie Bennett to provide much needed goals to our attack. IMO, this had little to do with the return of Andy Fleming, who started just 6 of those 15 games (W2 D3 L1) that you are referring to.

Sorry to pick you up on this, but I get pretty fed up with the fanfare Flemmo gets sometimes - because I think we have built him up into something that he isn't, and this is just another example of overstating his worth to the team.

I have nothing against Andy personally, he is a decent footballer - but other decent footballers we have/have had are/were not afforded the same immunity from criticism like Andy is - and I'm not sure why? For a creative midfield player, his goals and assist record is not what you'd expect from an experienced player at this level and from somebody who is so highly thought of (Played 263, scored 19, assists 14* over 9 seasons).

We've been seriously lacking goals from the middle of the park since Stew Drummond retired (he'd always chip in with half a dozen) - hopefully if Tutte can stay fit he can help out in this area, but we need more from Flemmo also.

*not sure assists stats have always been accurately kept - I hope that this is seriously understated, because that stat is terrible.

We will have to disagree.

IMHO Fleming is a vital cog in the team and when he plays well we usually do well.

He was in great form prior to his injury lay-off. I take no notice of stats , how do people define an assist anyway.

Not strange as in money, just expected him to go higher up the ladder, I can imagine him being on £2500 a week at FGR

I agree with Mark, I thought Aaron would be looking at middle to top end League 1 clubs after the form he showed he for us. Anybody who has pace and scores goals will be in high demand.

According to this our weekly average pay is/was half of FGR

If any middle to upper lge1 clubs had approached him with the right deal, pretty sure he would have taken it, regardless of location(???) Maybe his track record so far, putting aside his exceptional spell with us, wasn’t convincing enough??

I can imagine FGR being quite an attractive proposition for a young lad though. They must have given the hard sell about ambition, new ground , facilities, nice area and not far to travel. Mix that with a few quid and you can kind of see why Aaron ended up there rather than a Blackpool or Oxford.

Assuming that those figures are correct or even close to, it's surprising that we can attract anybody to play for us when those clubs nearest to us are able to pay in most cases weekly wages of over £1000 whilst we struggle on with just under £700.

For me it brings into sharp focus the hard work JB and Co have in putting a squad together that is able to compete.

Busy last few days, here’s the situation now:
Squad:
Roche (1)
Halstead (2)

Cranston (2)
Old (1)
Lavelle (1)
Brownsword (1)
Sutton (1)
Conlan (2)
Mills (?)

Tutte (1)
Wildig (1)
Fleming (1/2)
Jagne (1)
Mendes Gomes (1)
Kenyon (?)

Leitch-Smith (2)
Oates (1)
Howard (1/2)
Hawley (1)
Stockton (1)
Ellison (1)

Surprise surprise... it’s Mills (& Kenyon of course) who hasn’t yet signed up :? Conlan has said he had a “number of offers” eleswhere, so you can only imagine the interest Mills has attracted after his season!

Come on Zak, put pen to paper! This squad is looking good already.

I've always said it would be great to see a squad together right at the start of pre-season training and working together. This group of lads appear to be really happy together. That togetherness is worth a lot.

When we’ve had the squad assembled early, we seem to get off to a great start (& vice versa, like this season where we pretty much relied on January to sort our problems)
