I was wondering this too.

The new manager at Latics can't speak a word of English by all accounts either.

Anyway, we move on.

Seems to be the way, chairman setting budget and signing players, manager just comes in and does as he is told.

Which I'd like to think and seriously hope is the difference with our club where JB has total control on who to sign within the budget given to him by the Board.

It's a double act that has worked well over all the past decades....long may it continue.

I'd sooner be in Morecambe any day of the week than that camel spitting dry hole, no advantage to be gained for any player of this league

I love Morocco. Marrakech is a wonderful city. Certainly not dry, if you mean alcohol? Moroccan wine is superb (ex-French colony). I'm not sure I'd want to be there at this time of year though! It would be too hot for my liking.

David Cameron. May 4th 2015.
So how did that work out then?

Tagines & tangias, couscous, olives, flat bread, spicy sardines, snails in a clear broth.

Oh... and sheep's eye (tasted just like the rest of the lamb to be honest!)

Oldham seem to be making a few underwhelming signings.

Apart from money I can't think why Zak would choose Oldham as a better place to push his career forwards.

It was mentioned that he'd of been better off staying at Morecambe after joining what appears to be no better than a pub team but hope has just arrived with Big David Wheater arriving from Bolton.
Chris Eagles makes up Dads Army! Could be a very interesting season for my lot :D

Eagles looked well past his best at Accrington a few years back.

It was interesting listening to the podcast tipping Oldham for relegation.

Seven French players in the squad and none of them seemingly with any track record.

Still, run by a football agent and that went well for us.

And he's not played a competitive game for nigh on 18 months.

They'll be first on the list with all disruption going on in the background, only a buy out by either the town or fans can stop this spiralling into the abyss

Do wonder if Mills will regret his move? Pay rise & signing on fee etc will be good for him, but if they struggle, his career may stall... again.

Oldham, according to my long time latic supporting friend could be the next Bury. They have looked dire in pre-season (if that counts for anything) but then they pull a rabbit out of the hat with the David Wheater signing. This should allow a little more defensive stability and Mills the option to get forward more. They are trying to get Lang back from Wigan for another loan period but if that fails they look a bit light up front. Either way Mills may have moved for a few pennies more but it could still come crashing down around him! Wouldn't be surprised to see him crawling back in the not too distant future.

I genuinely would want us to tell him to sling his hook. Could prove us wrong but could be a very poor career move for someone who’s struggled to perform regularly before arriving with us. Just hasn’t sat with me well and particularly how he hadn’t even met their manager before signing.

I think we all know what we are but to lose a player to a team in the predicament they are hits home. Collins's move, in comparison, generally makes sense as-long as he can get game time.

Totally agree about Mills. I guess we will never know why he jumped ship with such indecent haste, we can only speculate. Football is a short career so if a decent signing on fee was offered plus a salary rise then his head may have been turned by that. Whether it's the best move for him long term only time will tell?

Oldham could well turn into the next Bury or Bolton, there's some very strange stuff going on behind the scenes at Boundary Park which is leaving Oldham fans scratching their heads! Wheater anyone, didn't see that one coming, how much has he cost them?

One things for sure at Morecambe. We will not go massively into debt to sign players way beyond our means as some clubs have done and continue to do. We are what we are and hopefully the town will have a club to follow for the foreseeable future.

At some time in our lives we all come to a T junction. Do we turn left or turn right depending on the options. I've no problem with Zac turning away from us if it is to better his career or financial position which in this case i suggest was the main priority in his decision.

He may live to regret it but how many of us look back and say if only I'd turned the other way. Hindsight is a wonderful thing but there is sod all we can do to change the way it is.

If in time he returns I for one would welcome him back.

I look back on my career and wish that I'd gone to Art College to progress my love of watercolour painting but I didn't choosing to pursue a career in graphics and then print sales. Regrets? Sure but that's life and at least when I took early retirement some 9 years ago I was able to pick up my watercolour painting and reflect on what might have been.

Maybe Zac will at some stage reflect on what might had been had he chosen to stay with us.
