We certainly are going to have a strong back up squad.

Just a pity that the money we spend on loaned youngsters :?: couldn't have been spent on a wee bit of experience such as a certain player at Blackpool who isn't in contention for their first team squad...and is looking to be loaned out.

Anyone any idea who pays the wages of loanees or does it depend on the club loaning the player out as part of the deal.... :?: :?: :?:

Let's hope that this loanee gets some first team action.

You aren't comparing apples with apples. You aren't even comparing apples with pears. You're comparing apples with Pot Noodles!

A certain 'currently out of favour' Blackpool player would cost far more than a development 19 year old from a Premiership team. Also a 'currently out of favour' Blackpool player may not even be available for a loan deal and may still be a back-up League One player. I suspect Tanner is going to be a back up player for us too, but will get some 'real' experience over the season. A 'currently out of favour' League One midfielder would expect to play whenever available & fit.

From looking at his Twitter, he seems to be a Blackpool lad

Let's hope he gets more first team experience than the lad who came from Leeds last season.

As for the Blackpool player he was offered back to Carlisle on loan twice but they didn't want him.

Maybe if we loaned out some of our younger squad players we could then possibly afford him. At the moment we've got 27 squad players ( 28 if we include Fleming who I think is still in training with the squad) the highest I would suggest it's been for many seasons. The chances of some getting EFL game time is slim. Why not loan them out :?: and the money saved could then be put into taking a creative midfielder on loan...no guessing who that would be... ;)

Looks an awesome young talent in these clips! :o I'm sure he'll be given opportunities in the first team.

What I like about him is his close marking and getting stuck in. Non of this backing off that we see too often. Hopefully he will get a chance to show his prowess and be allowed to play to his strengths and natural ability.

Close marking of an opponent is some thing that we rarely see from our lads.

Perhaps that's because Jim prefers them to play that way.

It certainly isn't down to individuals when the whole team do it consistently season after season!

The lad was very good last night. He played a very mature game, especially considering his age. To be honest, the clips in the YouTube video are a good representation. He looks strong, confident, hard, accurate tackling, good positioning, passed the ball well, quick, and definitely not out of his depth. Think we have another “good un.”

Got to be honest. With my lad being a big Utd fan( 2nd to Morecambe of course ;) ) I did pay particular attention to young Tanner throughout the game, and he did have a “stand out” performance.IMO.

Within the circumstance of the game (plan A, obviously out of the window early doors,) Brewitt also gave a good account of his self. Again, looks confident with the ball, worked hard, put the tackles in, and did everything that was asked of him, hence a full 90+ mins. Lovely pen at the end too. To sum him up, he deserved his chance, and played as if he was a regular starter. Another one to add to JBs selection headache. Long may it continue.

Hopefully, somebody who was there Tue, with better technical knowledge than me( most fans  ) will come on and post their thoughts.COYS.

Looks a very good footballer. Carried the ball and looked to play forward when he had it. He looked a threat when played at Wing back. I thought it was a wasted substitution unless he had a knock.

Have to agree with BW...also to bring on Sutton a defender and not Brewitt a midfielder when our midfield was being outplayed was questionable.
