Wildig injured himself. Bloody hell. I was just about to post, "I hope we get through without any injuries or red cards" when the commentary lads said he'd gone down.

...as I type, he appears to be okay, but I'd be looking at him coming off anyway.

Freez upset that I quoted him to make it sound like he's just been moaning for the whole game (which he has! ) I know Feez likes to think the whole world is listening, but for some reason, not everyone is listening, so the quotes are to give context! 8-)

It would have been great to have put in a good performance tonight, but they have obviously taken this cup seriously. We need to avoid injuries now and concentrate on our priority, the league.

Bloody typical! I predicted a 3-0 defeat in the prediction competition. I didn't even get the consolation of maximum points for the first time this season!

It's getting easier to predict results though if not exact scores

Just a bit of something positive, provided by Burton fans.......”Some of our football tonight was sublime, nay sumptuous. And I am having none of “it was only Morecambe.” They are a hard working, good club.

I give full credit, and thanks to Morecambe, for their approach to the game. They played football. No route one hoofball, as commonly seen in Lge2. Still a good club.

It doesn’t change the result, but it cheered me up a bit. (1/2 full)

It was a crap draw again for us. I don't think any of us really thought we had a chance. Burton have proved themselves to be a consistently good team for a number of seasons, and as last years semi-finalists, were never going to be a roll-over. I was pleased to see our line-up, and had Lewis scored with his early chance, it would have been less of a drubbing. At least we made it to the 2nd round.

For me the result shows how an abundance of money from a club promoted after us has enabled a club to build a hugely successful team.

If only we had the financial resources to match others in EFL2 then maybe we would be in a far better position in the league than we tend to find ourselves year in, year out.

This is NOT to detract from the monies already injected into our club over the seasons but maybe if we had had more financial clout to recruit more quality into our squads then who knows we may have been as successful as Burton and Accrington.

Maybe come May when our current owners are expected to relinquish ownership whoever takes over will be able to provide additional financial resource.....here's hoping.

Given the sad day in football with Bury, how anyone can say clubs like us could be putting more money in.

Football is at a crisis in its long history and for me there has to be a wage cap in both EFL1 and EFL2 as a starter.

Even then our club would struggle to compete with other clubs hence my hope that any new owners would be in a position to be able to narrow the gap that exists between clubs st our level. By introducing a wage cap it could prove to be the start of a more level playing field.

Surely no one can justify wages of circa £5K a week and provably even more in our league..... :?: :?: :?:

Bury FC could be the first of many....

Just watched last nights highlights.

Burton were full of running throughout the game and on the night proved their superiority BUT all credit to our lads who never gave in and with a bit more luck and clinical finishing (like Burton) could had a more equal score line.

No disgrace in coming out second best...on the night but goes to show the gulf between EFL1 and EFL2 but I wonder what their wage bill is in comparison to ours... :?: :?: :?:

Burton take the cups very seriously (hence the full strength team last night). They have had many money making ties against Man U and others the last few seasons. Full credit to them they've come from non-league and blitzed it. A shining example to others. They've had their luck along the way but they're also very well run.

So why didnt we take the game seriously? an ideal opportunity to get to round 3 thrown away,a chance to get City United or Liverpool and get some cash.amazing management! Feel for the loyal travelling fans spending money and time.

Enlighten me if you would al1. Who told you, or what evidence do you have, that we didn’t take the game seriously? :?: :?:
