All the blame will be laid at Cranstons feet.

Totally js. Last year he needed a box of tissues, and bollocked nearly every team mate, and he didn’t score.
Well done the lads. Sounds like we were doing a proper job on them for30+ minutes, til Cranston made his stupid error of judgement. COYS.

Absolutely gutting. O'Sullivan's early strike set us up nicely and while we weren't exactly dominating, I felt we looked comfortable and like we could easily nick one on the counter. Cranston was a big part of this, and his sending off was inexcusable and it cost us a result today.

Bit disappointed with Lavelle if I'm honest. Has often been a really consistent performer but made some really poor touches today, and lost his man a few times - including Pope for his first goal which was really shoddy as there was no one else really there.

Thought we maybe should have thrown Stockton on for AJ in the second half. Our best outlet with 10-men was Tanner and O'Sullivan down the right, who both did well to get some crosses in. Could have done with his presence in the box, and to try and make something out of Roche's questionable distribution.

That said about Roche though, this was his best game for us I've seen in a really long time. Couple of decent saves but most importantly, was very reliable with his handling and claiming crosses. I've been calling for Halstead but Roche did well today.

Roche gets plenty of practice during games. He must be the busiest keeper in the league. Those results earlier in the season against Mansfield don't look much now. Can we stay above Stevenage??

What were the tactics after the sending off? Was there any sign of game management or did the heads drop?

I fear Jordan will now get the Adam Campbell treatment after he missed the pen V Carlisle. Hopefully Jim and the players will rally round him rather than hang him out to dry like he has been on here

Two things pointed out about has here, questionable distribution, and claiming crosses. Normally baz won't come off his line, and we shouldn't need to be men down to play like today.

How long will the BENTLEY IN brigade continue to support the manager

1 win from 12 league games and worst defence

Bradford (H)

Colchester (A)

Forest Green (H)

not many points coming from them games in my humble opinion

Jim will be here until his contract expires sadly. Like somebody mentioned earlier, the club can't afford to sack him and why would he walk away from a well payed job with nothing lined up to walk in to?

Stevenage only changed theirs a few weeks back and so far it hasn't had the desired effect.

It's no good Redalert JB has just blamed Cranston 100% for the defeat today. Never mind the other 10 players who were there to defend a lead! The worst defence in the league, a shot shy forward line. We are at the giveaway arena on saturday against Bratfud... bet they are rubbing their hands together. Cranston gave JB a get out of jail free card today. In teflon Jim they trust!

Doesn't always work like that, I did and it was the best thing I ever did in my entire life

What makes you think anyone else could do any better with this whitebait of a club in a shark pool of a league that keeps on getting tougher each season, I'd take my hat off to any man who manages it.
I might come and top your empty glass up next week, my talismanic qualities helped on my last visit against MK mongs

I agree that the game was a different game before the Cranston red, which was pathetic. However there was still a lot of time to play and it doesn't matter how many players you have on the pitch - Vale's second and third goals were from our poor play. That would have lost us the game in any scenario.

Still worrying times for me - there is no sign of a win. We still only had one shot on target even before the sending off. We are still leaking goals.

My point is who would give Jim a job? He has a touch of Big Sam about him. How could a chairman expect a fan base to be happy with a man who keeps you in the league? He will be on decent money and will not walk away from it. Can't blame him for that.

He could have walked into a job at Oldham on a few occasions and I think he'd of done well, maybe he's way too loyal for his own good, treading water in Morecambe.

Is that factual? Are you saying he has been offered the job at Oldham on a few occasions?
