I often don't agree with his tactics but that's football but everything he has done has been in the best interest of the club that has and will always be his first love...with Everton a close second.

Cheers! Was going to chuck a quid in for a Scholes statue for youOLDHAMADE wrote:Westgate Wanderer wrote:More important things to be done at the club before a statue is built!
This has nothing to do with the clubs finances, this was a fan based suggestion, with the proceeds 'rounded up' by those who think it would be fitting and proper to do so.
Don't worry, I won't put you down as a contributor

I'll just say 'Thanks' to OLDHAMADE, redrobo and Keith for some serious common sense and balance.

I don't need your permission to say anything and I've no doubts been in Morecambe longer than yourself to make an opinion,
You're correct, that I had more than a little excitement at the prospect of one of the best midfielders in the game becoming manager but as was proved on that cold Tuesday night at Boundary park, he was out thought by a better manager of a smaller club, punching well above its weight, with far less at his disposal.
The reality is, you have a man who is Morecambe through and through, done more than was realistically possible and will be remembered long after you and your bunch of merry men have turned to dust.
Time you started to enjoy your life more, it's shorter than you think!

Hang on Oldham are in the same boat as us. You had players who were through and through like Andy Ritchie & Frankie Bunn who.got you two semi finals of the littlewoods cup and FA cup. Andy Ritchie is from Shaw, Oldham or was. Paul.Scholes & Frankie Bunn didn't even last five minutes before they left or got sacked & again a supporter of the club and a local person. Why aren't they remembered like any other manager up and down the country.

The very dramatic tone to your posts is comical. Remember, if people like me stop PAYING in to games, buying shirts etc, the club will be in a lot more strife than it is losing Jim who has chosen to sign for another club l.

In all that is being said, claimed, counter claimed, shouted, discussed, bull sh!ted etc.etc. That statement is 100% correct, for any team, in any league.
If our current manager does move on, then he gets a massive wish of success and thanks from me. Not because he is called Jim Bentley, but for what I feel he has done for MFC.
Whoever replaces him, will receive the same from me and mine, with full passion to see MFC be as successful as possible.
I really, really hope, that those calling for him to be sacked, leave etc, however they choose to dress it, prove to be the words of wisdom. If they don’t, which I think time will prove, then at least, get back on the terraces in the conference, whatever, and support your team through thick and thin.

I think the club would miss Jim, far more than anything you bring to the table
They certainly wouldn't miss your constant, grating, negative demeanour

Jim isn't leaving because he has been criticised by fans. He is going because presumably he has applied and been interviewed for another job. Totally his call.
