New Manager

Christmas would come early for my little lad of I tod him Baz was manager.

Challinor isn't a bad shout won three promotions with Fylde knows how to play winning football, where as I really can't see Jim getting Fylde to push for promotion. He will steady the ship there this year and then they will be midtable after that.

Is there any information anywhere as to whether Ken McKenna has gone too? Or do they automatically come as a package?

We need a man who can motivate the players, but they should all be motivated as they are ALL playing for their futures, all on a clean slate, and come the summer I can see a massive cull regardless of what league we are in

How ironic that would be. ;)

Personally IF it is someone from outside I'd be looking at Ian Evatt at Barrow.

Also I would expect though I doubt we'll be told that AFC Fylde have agreed to some financial compensation which when a team comes knocking on the door of your manager usually happens.

:?:

Have we got the money to pay off his contract at Barrow. More than likely someone who is freed up. I would have liked Pete Wild of now Halifax as done a decent job in a short space of time at Oldham & Halifax. Even Frankie Bunn would have been a good option but not even on the betting odds.

Probably because they expect big expectations of being top. Still done terrific job at Oldham considering he was youth coach before stepping in after Frankie Bunn.

Interview on Radio Lancs with one of our owners states that they couldn't guarantee a contract for next season to JB and Co and suggested that he should have guaranteed league status before any contract discussions.

The guy was absolute mustard, shame he was so undermined by that pair of clowns that he walked, he jumped in when called upon from his lower position and turned out to be the best of the lot of em.
He would have been loved here, for sure.

I can see the point from our owners.

Jim says in his interview he was frustrated over the last 18months that's pretty much since the new owners came in.

He was crying for training facilities for years and the new owners delivered for him. He has been able to sign players. The not paying a transfer fee thing is nonsense. How many L2 clubs pay for players? He has been able to stay overnight in hotels before away games, not all clubs can do that. Been able to tap up the Trust for training equipment. He hasn't been that hard done too.

Evatt turned Fylde down, a job that Bentley deemed to be more attractive than Morecambe...so why would Evatt want your job?

Absentee owners, no guarantees in terms of contracts or budgets beyond this season, double the commute to training....if anyone can sell that dream to him, every credit.

Ken and Lee Jones have also gone, which probably opens the door for keeper coach.. i would expect Halstead to start on Saturday

Guess it's a bit of both, my only hope is one day, he will find absolutely nothing at the Globe to moan about

Having listened to Part1 of the Radio Lancs interview with one of our London based owners (Part 2 tomorrow night) it's apparent that they want an experienced man at the helm. For me and I could be on my own in this but they should have little involvement in deciding the next manager if as we seem to think that they will not be around come next season.

Our club based Co Chairmen should have the final say as they will have to work on a daily basis with the new manager, not some London based individuals who have shown little interest in our club of late.

Getting someone in who would have to operate under the current restrictions isn't going to prove to be an easy appointment and any suggestions of improved budgets from our London based owners has to be taken with a pinch of sale.

JB's successor will be an almost impossible task to find and it may end up that we get an experienced player coming to the end of his career who wants to get into management as was hinted by Radio Lancashire. One name springs to mind is the former Stoke and now Reading player Charlie Adam. Probably out of our wage scale but would be ideal and bet Kenyon would love him at the helm.....

Hardly experienced is he , maybe they are looking at someone closer than you think who hasn't been working for a while but plenty of experience at top level and plenty of contacts , shouldn't want much money after a big payout, just a challenge . ;)

Personally I’d love to see Mark Lillis given the job. A brilliant coach and man manager who also values youth players and their development. Just a shame he’s in India...

Have you a name in mind or are you just thinking out loud, I can't think of anyone close to home who has had a big pay out recently.
