In/outs Contracts and transfer window

In/outs Contracts and transfer window

Postby Andy D » Mon Nov 25, 2019 1:59 pm

Just been brought to my attention that Lewis Allesandra and Sean Miller are out of contract in January.

With Derek promoting John as an assistant and Barry as a goal keeping coach who are already on the payrole, we could/should expect some much needed transfer activity?

Anybody else who's contract or loan up? might have room for at least four new players or more?

You're releasing Lewis then?

So how did that work out then?

Not a case of releasing Lewis, more a case of offering him a new contract which in the present position we find ourselves as not being classed as a priority.

Wouldn't surprise me if he was offered something at AFC Fylde and decided to go there despite it being non league.

No am i eckers like

Just pointing out Lewis is out of contract and is certainly one of our better players.

Unlike Miller who hasn't realy featured, and very similar to AJ Letch Smith and imo AJ is a betrer player and still under contract untill the end of the season?

I think I'd be happy with Lewis staying and three more players.

2 more central midfielders for me, and maybe another C/B to work alongside Sam Lavelle, and L/B needs looking at.

As DA has pointed out, the squad is too big and unbalanced and as a result it needs a complete re evaluation to make it more competitive and also by reducing its size we could then afford more quality but still be in the budget previously set.

At the last count the squad was 27 which by reducing it to around 22 would be more manageable and cost effective.

We've already saved 2 full time salaries although I would expected both John and Baz to have had an increase in their salaries but that should still see us in a plus situation.

He said them in the interview on our main OWS and also on the Radio Lancashire Sports Twitter.

Are we sure Miller isn't on loan for a full season ?

Defence is chronic and needs new blood soon.

Isn't Lewis on contract, so he's with us to the end of the season at least (unless he's loaned out which I think would be a bad move as he's our main goal scorer this season, not injury prone and can actually play the full 90).

Miller is on loan and is the obvious one to let return to his home club as he's not really done much for us this time around.

Not sure who we have who could be loaned out for any worthwhile money. Presumably we'd have to loan out 3/4 of the youngsters to get an equivalent amount of money to pay a top player?

I can't imagine Derek has much wriggle room at all given who we've already got on the books. Yes, two wages saved and maybe 1 out 1 in for Millar and loaning out some youngsters, so maybe a total of 4 new faces in the January window - not easy for him at all considering the limitations - not sure 4 new players is enough, even if they're of good calibre given the current squad's weaknesses.

I would let Lewis go. After a great start he has done nothing since. I would terminate Miller's loan as soon as possible.

We need short term signings, experienced players up for a relegation battle. Get this season sorted and then DA can start moulding his own squad in the summer.

Where was this snippet of info ??
Miller season long loan
Lewis undisclosed contract length was the only thing I heard
As far as I was told AJ and Cranston are the only ones on 2 year contracts

I only post that which is factually correct. :o ;)

Don't worry MrP no apology from you is necessary for your implied accusation that I was making DA's observations up......

Is John O'Sullivan also on a 2 year contract ?

As I understand it Lewis signed on a short term contract which finishes in January.

2 year deals given to Halstead, Wildig and a new 30months to Sam Lavelle.

Also 2 year deals I think to Stockton, Old, Tutte and O'Sullivan but not sure.

Be sure of one thing, Derek will have identified who he wants and those he doesn't,
Don't be surprised if there's a sudden influx of players from north of the border or loans from plymouth as he revisits his old stomping grounds :D

About time we moved away from our reliance on Liverpool based players and explored other areas for recruits.

Derek's father is a scout for his son in Scotland and is well respected North of the Border.

I personally wouldn't mind a few of my adopted kinsmen in our squad.

A few younger versions of Gary McDonald would come in very handy ;)

I thought Stockton only signed a 1 year contract. Old and Tutte are both in the 2nd year of their 2 year contracts. I think O'Sullivan is on a 2 year contract.

One of the Anoraks ,maybe Marky No.1 will know the contract situation.

O'Sullivan is on a 2 year deal and Buxton is on a 1 year deal. Miller is on a season long loan. Luke Conlan signed a 2 year deal in the summer. Jordan and A-Jay are on 2 year deals.
