Agree that the midfield look to have more bite and pressed the opposition quicker. Still need to get players in to the penalty area quicker. A few times we had players with the ball in a good position to cross but with no-one in the area to cross to.

Thought that the referee managed to miss two penalties, one each, and yet despite that, had a decent game. Would have been bloody frustrating if they'd been given a penalty in the 93rd minute!

The Ref made a cock up of the new rule when the ball struck him. He dropped the ball for the uncontested drop ball and ran up field. The GK then handled the ball well outside of his area. It should have been a free kick to us.

Yes, I commented on that at the time. I think the keeper was confused and thought he had a freekick, so moved the ball. With it being a new law, I think the ref was pragmatic and made the correct call really. Technically wrong, 'morally' correct.

Oh how I wish the powers that be would stop tinkering around with the game.

It really is getting to the point where fans haven't a clue to what is going on.

I thought the same as BW, it was the player not the fans that got it wrong! Typical keeper they just can't resist handling the ball! :D

Not up to the ref to decide if it is morally wrong or not, his job is to implement the rules to the letter of the law. If the paid professional(their GK) does not know the rules of his trade then hard luck. Book him, award the free kick and get on with the game.

Thought we did well against an average Carlisle side but we aint got that killer instinct.
So much hoping we dont have to rely on Macclesfield s predicament, but looks increasingly likely.

Thankfully Stevenage only drew as well.
Cant keep relying on teams being worse than us

I saw Tutte chuck his bib away and storm down the tunnel after DA used Miller as his final sub.

DA isn't here to make friends. There was no grand entrance and there was no acknowledgement to the crowd at full time. He is here to do a professional job and I quite like how he goes about his business.

I've thought for some time that Tutt's demeanour even under JB wasn't totally committed to the club. For me his only performance of any noteworthy which I congratulated him on was when Baz and Kevin took over and that produced a much needed home win.

Performances prior and subsequent to that have shown how ineffective he has been.

If DA is in a position to loan him out in January then excellent. We can't afford to carry any individuals who possibly think they are bigger then the club or show the wrong attitude to not being used during a game.

I can only see it being a fitness thing with Tutte. Does DA have faith in his energy levels to do what is now required from the midfield? I noticed Wildig looked very slim yesterday and his effort for 90mins. He used to get to 60mins and start falling apart.

Mrs A & I were chatting before the game and Buxton's name came up. I said that under Derek he'll need to lose a lot of weight before he gets back in the side (if ever). No disrespect intended to his footballing skills, as I think he has talent in that area, but he's surely not fit enough for the game we saw yesterday.

I agree, Buxton's time at the club may come to a premature end if his fitness doesn't improve. His talent is undoubted but he just looks so over weight. His contract may be another issue. I notice it is a one year with the possibility of a 2nd. I wonder if that is based on games played. If it is, would DA want to trigger that and have him on the books for another year?

That's as maybe, but I'm allowed my own opinion. Be interesting to know what the ref's assessor had to say about it... not that we ever will!
