The epitome of "a game of 2 halves" , inspired substitutions and change of tactics , Kev and Cole lifted the spirits of the whole team and AJ was class, great 2nd half.

Derek Adams, still undefeated when he’s ‘11’ men on the pitch 8-)

O'Sullivan said when receiving the MotM award, "we couldn't have played much worse in that first half" so you'd better take it up with him! 8-)

He also said it was one of the best team goals he's ever been involved in. Hope we get decent billing in the Football League Show (or whatever it is called now?) That will really build confidence for Boxing Day.

A, not too technical, “in a nutshell,” summation that mrp, agreed. Kev seemed to provide the psychological catalyst, he was well up for it. Some very harsh critique on here, about our first half performance, but Newport weren’t exactly “ inspiring, “ either, pretty scrappy, imo. Brilliant feeling leaving the ground, just right for Christmas.
Oldham who? 3 points Boxing Day, if we carry on from that 2nd half play. COYS

A good second half performance with a fabulous winning goal but what abysmal officials. The referee and one of his assistants seemed clueless and were guessing their decisions. We really have to improve the officiating at matches if the beautiful game if to prosper..

Kenyon did really well at centre back and limited Matt and Podge to very little after Matt missed an early chance. Old too stepped up to the mark.

Probably the best game John O'Sullivan has had since joining the mighty Shrimps and everyone played well second half.

Absolutely as I saw it. Never a goal. Disgraceful officiating all game. But such a great second half and well deserved win!!! Great substitutions at half-time by DA. Great equaliser. GOAL OF THE SEASON WON IT!!! Absolutely brilliant build-up play! Well done lads and DA and Happy Christmas to all :D :D :D Bring on Boxing Day and the Latics!

Always quite like Newport but gone right off them after today. Looked good before they "scored" then unecessarily started cheating with dives, time wasting, haranguing the referee, who seemed taken in time after time.

What a change after half time though. Some of the best Morecambe football seen for a long time and that goal! Probably the best I've ever witnessed live anywhere.

Great to leave the ground with everyone buzzing.

As said many times above.... first half shocker Newport could have been 3 nil easily.... Lewis kept losing the ball and I hate to say this but wildig was poor....
Brave subs at half time and they worked.... we were brilliant second half(despite the officials)....

Amond was a grade A nob and I’m glad his cheating led to our goal....

Hopefully we can repeat our second half performance for 90 mins on Boxing Day

I think DA said it was "too tippy tappy" and I agree. We weren't great but it was more that we were playing the wrong game in the 1st half and we were beaten up rather than played off the park.

Absolutely loved the Newport manager's comment post-match. "We got beat up and bullied off the park second half". BRILLIANT. About time we started making opposition managers feel like that.

And tonight I feel absolutely great about the performance - I actually have hope for the rest of the season.

Well done D.A. and all the team..

Completely different angle from Block D, but I saw the whole of the white line on the playing side of the ball. I thought from my perspective it was a goal, and there was no hesitation whatsoever from the liner. Just depends on your angle I guess. Never mind, excellent second half gave us 3 points and we're off the bottom.

Completely agree. It's exactly what we needed today, and what we've needed many times this season (and the past). Stockton played that role excellently, gave away a few fouls, got away with a few, but got in the defender's faces and made them back off. Not beautiful football at times, but effective, and that sort of football paved the way for the excellent goal we did score with it played along the ground.

Fantastic second half! Outclassed in the first though, great tactical substitutions and we battered them in the second! They were a bunch of bullies in the first half and second half a bunch of cry babies! Not sure about their goal but the liner missed a clear offside in the build-up.Second half what a change, pressing and tackling as if their lives depended on it! What an amazing winner too! One of the best team goals you will ever see. Fantastic result! Onward and upwards Oldham Athritic next :D

First half was terrible, there is no doubt about that. Second half we were absolutely superb and were on the front foot the whole half. Fully deserved the win and the second goal was just a work of art - stunning football.

If we play like that every week we have no need to worry about the drop at all.

One thing about Derek's decisions today. How often do you see a manager, and I mean any manager, at any level, so this is expressly not aimed at anyone in particular, make a double substitution at half time. Genius it appears in the circumstances, and long may that genius continue.

Wow, great to read everyone’s comments, it seems that today’s second half has galvanised the support and the team together, and hopefully we can keep on against Oldham on Boxing Day and get some more points.
Brilliant stuff.

Yep. Derek last man off the pitch and deserved the applause. Great half time team talk and changes.

Criticised the squad last week but quite a few players really stepped up, particularly Cole Stockton, who came on and ran more and worked harder than I’ve seen him all season, and Luke Conlon who was excellent.

All about that second goal though. What a team goal and what a finish. Saw John O’Sullivan after the game and he was buzzing.

When the poo hits the turbine the best players step up and others fall by the wayside. Think we’ll be seeing the back off a few and hopefully those who’ve proved their worth can keep it going.

Excellent stuff and chuffed for the manager who is making his mark.
