Possibly and if Andy Fleming's injury has passed the tests of the insurance company then that would make 4 new signings viable if the 3 you mentioned do move to Fylde.

Buxton instead of Wildig I heard? There are definitely 4 potential signings currently training with us. We have saved wages too with our assistant manager and goalkeeper getting recruited from within, even if they had a pay increase.

I would be very happy for Wildig to stay here. He must be played in his best position though.

It looks like Alessandra , Tutte , Buxton and maybe Cranston could be on the way out. These 4 in addition to Andy Fleming's salary as well as the saving on Baz being keeper coach should give Derek some chance of new signings. Is it possible to send Miller to Fylde as well ?

I’m sure Jordan Cranston signed a 2yr contract at the start of the season?

I like Jordan as a player, he’s so versatile and his fitness levels are right up there, the only reason with us not seeing more of him in the first team must be down to his temperament/attitude in training? Just hope Jordan can keep his head down and win Derek over and take his chance in the first team when or if he gets it.

There is a rumour on Twitter that we are signing defender Mickey Demetriou from Newport County.

Agree with that Andy. A real confidence player, who needs some time and “nurture.” It is in there for sure, imo.

Surely the info about new signings can only be a wee bit of pure speculation.... :?: :?: :?:

If true about those going through the doors then OK by me.

I thought we looked a bit tired yesterday and we failed to press their back line like we did v Newport.

Very little between the two teams other than finishing which they capitalized on our mistakes.

Certainly showed DA where we need to improve with a lack of consistency our biggest downfall.

Looking forward to see who goes and who comes in but it's going to be a rocky few months ahead with relegation looming.....

Some info about rumoured signing Mickey Demetriou

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49415878

So glad to see Cole getting better with every game. Could it be that it's because DA is giving him more confidence with the increased game time he's now getting..... :?: :?: :?:

Interesting, he pissed off a fair few people with his time wasting yesterday, seemed a bit of a character, like Newport’s answer to Kevin Ellison for winding people up.

Be a good signing if true, better at defending than Luke Conlan and better in the air must be 6ft+

Derek Adams will have a different scouting network to Jim’s `”Scoucer and Woolyback) one ;)

DA's father has an acknowledged successful scouting network in Scotland so possibly a few Scots on their way down South.... :?: :?: :?:

I think DA is one of those managers that decent players like to play for and who will fit in with our pay scale to play for him rather like in Sammy's day we attracted players who wouldn't have looked twice at Morecambe if we had a lesser "name" manager.

I think we will be ok whatever Macclesfield's situation is.

Back to the topic. Thought it was a good game, good crowd, good atmosphere, the best Referee I've seen for a long time, and played in good fair competitive spirits by both sides. A shame they 'turned us round' at kick-off - we never seem to do as well when this happens (something for the coach and team to work on here). But a good bright start from us, plenty of chances created and unlucky not to go ahead, before their lucky goal, I don't think MH had much to do before then. A great goal from Carlos to get back into it. A pity we didn't score another, perhaps a combination of heavy pitch and tired legs, but the subs bench had few game-changing options, unlike the last game. Disappointing result, but more down to bad luck the way the ball fell for their two goals. We deserved at least a point.

I thought the Oldham players were hanging on early doors when we were throwing whatever we could at them. However it was us doing most of the running, they kept their shape fairly well and let us burn ourselves out. Second half we ran out of steam and they came on strong. Thought they just about deserved the win on that second half display. All in all the first time I've seen us under Adams and a lot better to watch than some of the stuff we've had to endure prior to that.

Slightly strange substitution when we were 1-2 behind. Brewitt off and Sutton on? I thought Alessandra would have been a better option but I guess there's stuff going on behind the scenes that we haven't a clue about which influences the managers decisions.

Only trouble now with the games coming thick and fast is we look shorthanded in the midfield area. With the usual suspects going missing it's putting pressure on the few remaining to play game after game.

Think that was so we could go with 3 at the back “Sutton - Old - Kenyon” with Tanner & Conlan playing further up

At the other end of the pitch...

What happened to Michael Howard? With rumours that Lewis is either carrying a knock and/or on his way out, surprised Michael isn't even getting on the bench. Is he injured or simply not performed? Has he featured much in the reserves?

 there are 4 players training with us but I suppose that doesn't mean we will sign them all. The fact they are here is positive though

IF there are players currently training with us then they must be surplus requirements to other clubs or are non league with time on their hands.

If surplus to requirements elsewhere then are they going to be any better than what we have already got :?:

Surely we need players who are already in squads elsewhere rather than those unconnected which does question their quality,

Where is the evidence that potential [players are already training with us.... :?: :?: :?:

However if I'm proved wrong then all well and good....but I have my doubts. :o

They could be unregistered players and when you look at the list their are some decent players on it who surprisingly haven't signed for anyone this season.

They could be like Mickey Demetriou , recovering from an injury and not playing for their clubs but who know their club will release them and have permission to trial and train with us.

We are never going to be able to afford the players who are first choices at other league 2 clubs but Derek comes with a reputation for producing good teams from little resources like Ross County who he took in to the Scottish Premier.

Demetriou is back in their team and played against us only the other day. Would be a welcome addition but somehow can't see him being made available at such a critical time of the season but hope I'm proved wrong.

As for unregistered players they would be weeks away from match fitness one would assume but accept that there are probably some decent players on the list but why is it that other clubs have not signed them to date as unregistered players can sign at any time during a season...I think... :?: :?: :?:

We are never going to sign players that currently play for other teams. Not do they need to be unregistered. That is not what the January transfer window is about at our level.

We could do with players on loan from the leagues above like Tanner who want game time. Or decent players who are just not favoured or in the picking. We have players like that in Cranston who could be good for us but players ahead of them.
