Cambridge 1 Morecambe 0 f/t

Re: Cambridge 1 Morecambe 0 LIVE thread (was team news)

Just hope that DA can bring in players who have heart and can compete otherwise it's not looking good at the moment.

No point in pointing the finger any more, we are where we are because we are simply not good enough for the vast majority of the season. We produce the odd flash of promise then follow it up with dour performances. We are simply consistent in our inconsistency and have been for too many seasons past.

Fearful for our future BUT bigger clubs than us have been relegated ie Stockport County but somehow manage to still pull in the crowds.

Hmmm... Fit players who you'd rather weren't even on the bench. Dour game with one weak shot on target. 1-0 defeat. And you are rather enjoying this?

A lacklustre performance against a Cambridge side that didn't look anything special - completely sums up 2019.

We can only thank Stevenage for us not being where we deserve to be - bottom.

Roll on 1 January and lets hope Derek can make as many changes as possible.

Sounds like Halstead had a mare with the goal following his poor display against Oldham.

Time for Big Baz to get the nod.

Roll on January and DA can get these new lads in and get the ones he doesn't want out. Plenty of points to play for and we just have to finish above Stevenage or Macc depending on their punishment. We are at the dawn of a new era.

Tutte who has barely been fit and chucking his vest at the bench when not used? No thanks

Buxton who turns up at a new club obese? No thanks.

Miller who has done nothing since his return? No thanks

These players have coasted for too long, had it far too easy. I said I was enjoying his ruthless streak before kick off Keith, not sure why you bring that up? Give that Jim Bentley pillow an extra squeeze tonight.

Disappointing to lose to another soft goal. I could accept it more easily to lose to a net busting shot, but we keep handing out goals like Christmas presents. luckily Stevenage and Macclesfield both lost but they have games in hand.
We just have to hope we can turn things around in the New Year. Another Harry Houdini escape act!!!

Okay...

If Derek as axed them because of a poor attitude then I applaud him.

The team under Derek looks more organised, it’s just need to be more clinical with our chances and discipline.

Maybe I was dreaming or was it wishful thinking but sure I read somewhere that DA has submitted a plan to the Board with what he wishes to do regarding new team building. I think that the Board approved it in its entirety which could mean that finance will be available thanks to the savings made on former team management wages.... :?: :?: :?:

DA has a reputation of re building teams with very little finance so let's hope he can work miracles once again..... :?: :?: :?:

Today's stats show we had 44.6% of play. 14 shots...2 on target (2 less than Cambridge) 8 off target with 4 blocked.

Bang on Andy, fair play to DA for instilling some authority and binning these players off.

I'm not sure what Keith things Tutte, Miller and Buxton could have done to turn the game around but on the evidence I have seen, I think they are better of at home. DA will mould the squad and will have them working their nuts off from here on in.

Not that I’ve noticed, I might look at Footballers to see if they’ve legs like tree trunks, but that’s it. ;)

Derek as just been on Radio Accy and was honest as usual

Says he has few players lined up to come in and also raved about Carlos saying he was best player on pitch
Also said we need more quality in the side

January 2020 could be the biggest month as a league club

Did he mention Lavelle :?:

He surely isn't injured after being suspended for 4 matches.

Maybe someone has made an offer the board couldn't refuse :!: :!: :!:

My thoughts as well.

Anything less than £250,000 would be a steal....but doubt that even AFC Fylde have that kind of money... :o :o :o

Nothing about Lavelle

If he was to leave surely it would be a decent 6 figure amount

I would expect him to move up rather than down.

Maybe Blackpool , Fleetwood or even following Barkhuizen to Preston ?

Has Sam been sold in order to finance a team re build... :?: :?: :?:

Would make sense if the fee was large enough to provide DA with funds he needs.

As much as I don't want Sam to leave just yet, it could be a case of sacrificing our most saleable asset for the greater good.... :?: :?: :?:

And we don’t have enough shots on target. 1 to 2 a game. Of course we will lose to Stevenage like normal and probably even Macclesfield, so we need even more points than them!

Okay...

Err the last time Buxton played was when he came on against Northamton when he not only changed the flow of the game in our favour but scored as well. Whilst he may not the trimmest player we have he certainly aint a lazy bugga either , what he lacks in pace he makes up for with composure and one of only a few players who doesn't play with the ball like its a hot potato. ;)

I would say Buxton is the better of the 3 left at home and I would have liked to seen more of him. The fact that an untried youngster has come in and made right back his own probably says it all. Jim tried Buxton at left back but he looked uncomfortable. Yeah he scored and pinged a couple of nice diagonal balls but that is all he has done. Much prefer Tanner at right back and a natural left footer at left back.

The reason we have sub standard players is because we could not attract or afford decent ones thanks to several years of comedy capers off the pitch, if Sam is sold, and the money is invested in decent players great, if not , then we will probably scrape by thanks to Bury and Macclesfield going out of business, Derek's record with the existing squad is as bad as Jim's because most of the players arent good enough for this league, Alex Ferguson wouldn't have kept this squad in league 2.

Buxton was MotM in his last game for us and looked quality at times. He also didn't look overweight when seen up close. Perhaps a deal has been done and that's why he's not featuring?
