Ignoring the extraneous comma, I don't think our set pieces have got materially worse under Derek.

We played well yesterday , certainly very comfortable for most of the match , but conceded another sloppy goal and apart from a looping header that hit the bar we never looked like scoring.
Our crossing was poor and shooting even worse.

The goal mouth scramble, where Bradford players virtually covered the line, could, and should have been a goal. Definite shout for the penalty, with the handball, should have been given. On another day, that could have been 2 scored.

This pattern appears time after time, with an occasional blip ala Newport inbetween.
The fact is the Christmas period has brought us nil from 9.
We rely on Stevenage to f@ck it up again in injury time to leave us hanging on to 23rd by the skin of our teeth.
Wonder if the EFL will give us another lifeline this week?

Can’t disagree with any of that M1, bottom line fact.

Now we play a better style of football, dominate possesion and play like Brazil at times until we get 20 yards out then it all goes wrong.

Long gone are the days of passing it sideways then back to the keeper for a long hoof.

I feel when that final ball clicks we will give someone a hammering as some of the football we are playing is excellant I thought it was going to be against Oldham but sadly now.

What's the point of our big centre halfs coming up for corners if we aren't going to put it in the box?.....and when we went a goal down with hardly any time left perhaps going 442 and being a bit more direct?

I think the modern approach to corners is to keep it short and work the ball in to the box. I have noticed an increase of short corners at our place and whilst watching other games at different levels.

We haven't been any good at corners since Twissy left.

At times I thought it looked like we were playing with a medecine ball. Short passes were great but crosses barely got off the ground and all our long shots were just scuffs, bobbling along to the keeper.

It's funny because you watch the players warming up and they're all pinging it about or chipping it onto the cross bar but come to the game and they can hardly kick it!

In mitigation the pitch was in awful condition , hard and bobbly. Carlos was the only player on either side who was able to make any sort of run with the ball at his feet but as you say at the end he scuffed his shot.

Regardless of the “easy” to find negatives, Morecambe, apart from another soft goal, were definitely the better team on the day. The overall game, not dissecting it too much. Bradford’s forum will back that up. Massively positive, with areas of improvement to come, and looking very bright for the rest of the season, if it continues.
