I reckon DA is shaping towards a 4-2-3-1 that currently would look a bit like this (I imagine):
Halstead
Tanner - Lavelle - Old - Conlan
Diagouraga - Brewitt
Slew - AJ - CMG
Stockton
Think AJ struggles a bit in a central role on his own as he lacks physical presence. But his link up with Carlos is brilliant, and DA looks to be shining towards playing him in a second striker role.
Seen some very mixed things about Slew, but one positive everybody seems to agree on is that he's quick. That's something we desperately need in the side, and he clearly has some talent going by his pedigree - obviously seems to have wasted it a bit.
I imagine we'll be getting in another target man to provide a bit of competition/cover for Stockton, especially with Ryan Taylor looking possible. Skill/guile, pace and physical presence up top to create a bit of space - should be a nice blend.
Kenyon/Brewitt probably in contention for that second central midfield spot, imagine Diagouraga will have one spot nailed. Will be interesting to see what kind of a player Phillips will be, as he may be in contention for that position too - possibly as a more attacking option going from what has been said about him?
I think Lavelle and Old (who's been excellent recently) are safe bets at centre back, although again DA may want to bring in more competition alongside Sutton. Bakare seems to have returned though, which is interesting:
