This just goes to show the dangers of chasing success at any cost and IMO what a good job the Morecambe board have done so far.
Lets hope the recent excellent form does not increase expectations too much - our gates and ability to attract funding and thus better players means we must tread a very careful financial path that doesn't over burden the club with debt but also doesn’t hold back progress on the field - the two go hand in hand and our board will do magnificently to maintain and hopefully improve our league standing and improve the finances through the new stadium to back this progress up in a sustainable way.
If the club conducts itself in the way it has over these last few seasons then I can only see more success and more happy times for The Shrimps - bring it on!

Dont get that. Why would they go into admin next Thurs?

If they take the points deduction they will almost certainly get relegated. If they dont they have a chance of avoiding this.

If they wait until the week after, the deduction will be next season (where there is likely to be others) - and a whole season to get the deduction back and thus at least a chance of avoiduing relegation.

If they are going into admin (everyone on Deva chat thinks they are) cant see the point in timing it for the day before the cut off.

If my understanding of that article is correct, only teams which are relegated anyway receive a deduction the following season. It suggested that teams which survive will receive a 10 point deduction once the season has ended, and could, in effect, be relegated in that way (used Southampton as an example of a team which could survive but then be relegated following a post-season deduction).

Therefore, it makes sense for clubs to go into administration before the deadline as it at least gives the playing staff a target for the last few games (Chester, for example, would have at least 9 points to make up).

Going into admin. can save the Clubs loads of money by not paying creditors and a few have upset the Inland Revenue inparticular! The Football League brought out the admin. rules to protect the "football people" to get paid in full rather than a new owner agreeing a much smaller percentage to it's creditors through a voluntary agreement (C.V.A.). The new rules have appeared on the back of the Leeds/Bates fiasco where a shed load of money was simply wiped off the slate.

Yes but if they don't comply with the League rules/guidelines on coming out of admin. they may end up with -17 a la Bournemouth/Rotherham instead of just the initial -10

So am I reading this right? Darlo can complete their normal season fixtures, but without a buyer they would be effectively wound up before the start of the play-offs if they make them, and certainly not be able to start next season at all.

what the hell happens then? I can only see one way to keep all the leagues relatively the same size, and that would be automatic promotion for the top two in the blue square and an extra from the play offs. but surely you cant change the rules now, or can you?
