We will need at least one good striker who knows where the net is too. Another midfielder on loan perhaps, too.

At tonights Res game (2-1 to us :) we spoke to a Man City fan who told us that Ryan has just signed a 4 year contract on £10,000 a week! Hard to believe I know but the guy seemed in the know..........

:o Thats extraordinary

If Preston (allegedly) have ressie players on 5 grand a week, that sounds more than possible

Not strictly correct.

When you take into account the town's population our average support is a lot better than some other teams in league 2.

We have a total squad of 24 players (as detailed in the Match Day programme) of which 11 were with the club during our promotion year. Only 6 of last Saturdays starting 11 are still with us. So it's a wee bit unfair to suggest that 'we are still a Conference side on paper'.

What we do have, though, is a very good reputation (thanks to our board) of looking after players properly when it comes to paying their wages etc.

Agreed!

Roche, Artell, Drummond, Wainwright and Howe are better than Drench, Blackburn, Sorvel, Thompson (in the Conference) and Carlton.

Roche is a better player than Drench, yes. Drummond is better than Sorvel, yes. But Wainwright isn't a patch on Thompson, Conference or otherwise. The others are interchangeable.

Drummond release :o Please tell me no. We only have one goal scoring midfielder and Drummy is it. He must surely have a role with us for another season or two

Two of those you feel should be out have been given another 12 months. Namely Arts and Fraser.

Stanners has 5 goals from midfield so him and Drummy have weighed in with more goals from midfield than we usually score. Wayne also has several from midfield.
