Derek said yesterday he has a squad of 30 players and squad is too big

Why only six subs then very strange

The additional sub has to be 'home grown' so perhaps no-one qualifies? That said, I'd have thought Da Silva Mendes would have been 'home grown'.

So the 4 new recruits played thought I give my view of their performances out of 10
Diagouraga 6
Cooney 9
Phillips 8
Slew 4
Dia gave a lot of sloppy passes away
Cooney good engine and impressive long throw
Phillips worked hard and found space to score
Slew or should that be slow, stray passes, laid the ball off but never went for the return ball,
think Kev would have been a better choice

Kev's Twitter. Probably not a good thing to send out, but players being frustrated at not playing is a good thing.

Alex Hay who is Fylde's Chief scout liked Kev's post. It is good to see players having to compete for a place in the eleven and on the bench. O'Sullivan looked really up for it when he came on.

Too many players had it far to easy under the past regime

Good assessment, Slew had a couple of shots, his second on target, but he huffed and puffed after his run, will be good I think when he gets up to match fitness, lack of game time showed.
Shame we couldnt get second goal, butthey had their chances too and Halstead pulled off a save or 3

+1. The two young lads from Burnley did really well. We missed Kev as an impact sub today.

4 newby's good start.
Another John Newby would be amazing!

Slew didn’t show enough desire/ willing. As mentioned earlier, Kev would and does offer much more, with his movement off the ball, passion etc etc.
